Curve-tactic!
I have yet to find a tape that can be manipulated and make smooth curved lines. I used while painting with acrylics. I went to multiple stores looking for this stuff, and finally found it at Joan’s, thanks Joan! It is definitely time consuming but worth it. At first I didn’t varnish the tape enough, which caused some paint bleed. Then I got worried so I rubbed that tape down like no body’s business, and caused the illustration boards first layer to tear. Therefore after some trial and air, a perfect mid-ground of varnishing the tape with your finger nail works great, no bleeding or tearing. I do wish it was thicker in width (to cover more area, but it’s possible that it could not curve as well in small areas if it was thicker? I’m not sure, that’s just my assumption. It’s great tape for small curved areas when painting! I do recommend, the scotch curved tape does exactly what it advertised.

Awesome masking on curves
Nothing I have found is able to follow curves as well or clings to surfaces better and with cleaner lines. Resists solvents and Orange type strippers and is even resistant to sanding. The only problem is finding it ... only a few Jo Anns stores stock it and then finding it in the store is a needle in a haystack scenario. To my knowledge no other retailer sells it.

Essential Artist Supplies: Scotch Artist Tape
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use Scotch Artist Tape on a regular basis because it is the perfect tape for a variety of uses. This tape is easy to place, reposition and remove. It is durable and can be used for most any surface from lightweight paper to heavy cardstock. It stays flexible and easy to remove even with dry paint!
This tape is as much part of my toolkit as my brushes and paint!
