Not Baby Swaddle Material
I went into the store to buy this because I thought it was what I needed and on sale. It turned out this is not the type of cotton gauze I had in mind. This fabric feels more like a crepe or crinkle rayon. It is kind of scratchy to the touch. Not sure if it softens up once you wash it, but it is definitely not the multilayered bubble gauze used in baby swaddles and cute baby outfits. For that you’ll want the one that’s a little more expensive. The Fall version is best because it has lots of layers and is two-toned. Also, gauze is not a good fabric for masks if you’re going for protection. The weave of the fibers is too loose and will let almost anything through. If you’re just going for appearance, then this is a thin breathable fabric that will cover your face but also does absorb moisture and will feel sweaty after a short while.

Not white.
The fabric itself was fine, I guess. I have no experience with this type of fabric. But it is NOT white. Not even close. More of a french vanilla.

Will work for use but pros and cons
Gauze is pretty see through and not very soft even after washing. It didn't shrink too much though and took color very well for the dyed beach coverup. With dye you can't tell the see through too bad and has a nice stretch. I ordered white but it was not as white as the picture but I am dyeing anyways. Easy to stitch and serge. Overall will work for my purposes.

Surprised
This fabric came as a 2 yard piece and a 1 yard piece. This can make for odd seaming so I was a bit surprised. I ordered 3 yards.
