Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super opaque and puffy (one caveat) Work as advertised. To all who say they do not “puff”, this effect only occurs on non-porous surfaces (ie., glass). Same with the Glaze variety. People cannot read directions and/or English? They work, period.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for certain applications I have never expected these to be puffy, but for writing and coloring pastels on dark surfaces, these are unparalleled! I love them for my art journalling, where I trust them to perform equally well on all surfaces, even gesso (gesso will ruin most pens) and acrylic paint. My favorite use is to heat emboss an stamped image on black or dark paper, then color it in with these pens - the color is opaque and it really pops!

The packaging doesn't tell you that although Soufflé works with paper & cards, for best results, use on non-porous surfaces such as plastics, coated papers, acetate, vellums, & glass. You'll see the raised ink better. It absorbs into papers, so multiple apps. are needed. Go to www.sakuraofamerica.com website for more info. Also, works great with Sticklers which are unique die cut outline shaped stickers that you color in with Souffle pens. Good luck!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from They are ok I have this pack and several other Souffle pens. And while I like the way these pens write. They do not work as advertised. I use them to add accent to colored paper..I wouldn't but them again and as a new purchase I would only by them on sale.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a dissappointment! These are NOT puffy! The package reads "raised effect is delicate and can be crushed" and "dries to a delicate, fluffy, matte effect". This product does none of these things. They are simply your run-of-the-mill gel pens. What misleading advertising! (I think there's a law against that!)
