Jo-Ann Supports Our Communities
The vision of the Jo-Ann Charitable Giving program is to make significant impact on local communities and national causes that align with charitable tenets through multiple forms of giving.
Our charitable tenets include: Arts & Education, Health & Wellness and Military Support. Since 1943, we have contributed to programs that serve our communities and have strived to ensure their ongoing strength and well-being.
Today, this support is continuously increasing as we discover new ways to give, share and help. To assist in making a larger impact, we've partnered with these worthwhile national organizations:
Founded in 1969, the National Military Family Association is the leading non-profit organization focusing on issues important to military families. They believe that all military families deserve comprehensive child care, accessible health care, spouse employment options, great schools, caring communities, a secure retirement, and support for widows and widowers.
The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. It is the place where great futures are started each and every day. They serve nearly 4 million young people, through membership and community outreach in some 4,000 Club facilities though the country and BCGA-affiliated Youth Centers on U.S. Military installations worldwide.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is an independent not-for-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health. At this time there are about 2.9 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, exceeded only by lung cancer.
Kids In Need provides school supplies to impoverished children and under-funded teachers through their national channel of Resource Centers. The Foundation's mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed. More than $300 million in school supplies and nearly $1 million in teacher grants have been donated to date.
