SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • RED HEART® Super Saver® Yarn: 1 skein 774 Lt. Raspberry A
  • RED HEART® Super Saver® Yarn: 1 skein 254 Pumpkin B
  • Susan Bates® Crochet Hook: 5.5mm [US I-9]
  • Yarn needle
  • Blanket-weight fleece cut to 54"x54" (137 x 137 cm)
  • Sewing needle
  • Thread

DIRECTIONS:

GAUGE: 12 sts = 4" in pattern. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Edging measures 2½" (6.4 cm) wide

Edging Foundation:
Row 1 (Right Side): With A, ch 8; dc in 6th ch from hook, [ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next ch] twice; turn.
Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc, plus ch 1), dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next ch of beginning ch-6; turn.
Row 3: Ch 4, dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch of ch-4; turn.
Repeat Row 3 until edging fits around outer edge of blanket. Fasten off.

Edging Frill:
With right side facing and working across one long edge into top of dc or into top of ch-3, join A in 4th ch of beginning ch-6; ch 3 (counts as dc), 4 dc in same st, * 5 dc in top of next dc or ch-3; repeat from * across. Fasten off.
Outer Edging: With right side facing, join B in top of beginning ch-3; ch 1, sc in same st as joining, * ch 3, sc in next dc; repeat from * across. Fasten off.

Finishing:
Sew ends of edging together. Weave in ends. Sew edging around blanket, using sewing needle and thread.
