Rated 1 out of 5 by from Slippery metal pegs I bought this sock loom because the Joann I visited didn't have the 2.0 version. I read the reviews & thought they were good enough to give it a try. Unfortunately the pegs were slippery & I didn't bother learning more & returned the loom. Maybe I'll try the 2.0 version one day or I'll make socks on round looms.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well Made I found this loom to be well made and easy to use. The only problem I have found is that the end which does not move has gotten loose with use. My husband believes he can fix it with a little glue. The instructions were not that hard to follow and the DVD that came with it was very helpful. I have used other plastic round looms many times and I like this one just as well as those. I look forward to making many pairs of socks on this loom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this sock loom! I received this a a gift several months ago. It took a while to make my first pair of socks, but I am definitely getting the hang of it! The quality of the loom is great, very sturdy. The only down side I have found is the formula for door measuring is a bit off and the first sock I made was too small. I did have to use more pegs, but my second sock fit great! I definitely recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun & Easy Bought a loom for myself and it was so much I bought another for my sister's birthday gift. There was a great selection of sock yarns available in many multi colors.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor craftsmanship I bought this loom with a 50% off coupon and still feel I paid too much for it. It's just poor craftsmanship. The lines are anything but straight. Thankfully the heads are all turned appropriately. On first use one of the nails fell out while knitting a stitch resulting in dropped stitches. Now I can't use it until I can secure the nail back into place. I had much higher hopes for wood over plastic. Unfortunately this just doesn't live up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. I bought this a couple weeks ago. It was the first time using a loom, took a little while to get used to but now I love it. Can't put it down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from horrible! This is extremely hard, yarn keeps on breaking, I have tried and retried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Loom One of the reasons I hadn't tried loom knitting before was that I wanted the smaller gauge. So far I've made armwarmers on my sock loom. Sock Loom I that I purchased from Joanne's is autually my second of the same model. I'm really happy with it and I can't wait to make socks and armwarmers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This loom helped me when I needed custom socks.... After having a serious blood clot, there were no socks to be found that I could wear without swelling. It is very easy to use, I followed the directions and had a perfect pair of socks when I finished. It also gave my hands a rest from crocheting and knitting, so it would a double blessing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just a beginner I just started using a knitting loom in December, I was given a KB all in one. I liked it so much I bought this sock loom, I also bought the Sock loom 2. The Sock loom 2 uses #4 weight Yarn. I love both looms. I did have trouble with this Sock loom at first, but I put it down and picked up the sock loom 2, which was way easier. After making about 6 pairs of socks on the sock loom 2, I went back to this sock loom (the one with metal pegs) I guess it was the practice, but now I can make socks on both looms, I just love them. They also have some great videos on their web site. It takes me about a week to knit a pair of socks. (I do have a full time job.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Harder than it looks! I am not a complete beginner of loom knitting.  I can't tell you how many socks I have started and then lost a stitch in the corner and had to start over.  It is incredibly frustrating to knit half the sock and then drop a stitch that you can't recover.  The size of the loom is nice to hold in your hand, but it creates problems in trying to work on the corners.  Decreasing and increasing stitches for turning the heel is hard enough without having such a small space in which to work.  If the ends had more pegs, making the loom more square, I don't think it would be such a pain in the patootie.  I am shopping for a round loom with a small gauge to replace this one.  If I can't find one, I will make one myself.  I wish I had not spent the money on this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ugh! I was so excited when I bought this loom only to end up totally disgusted and disgruntled. The video makes it look so simple, and maybe it is for other people (some good reviews here). I, however, spent SO much time just trying to get the cast-on done without all the stitches flying off constantly, that I'd end up throwing my hands in the air and giving up. I'd go back to it after a few days, telling myself, " I can DO this!" Nope, I can't do this...those metal pegs are slippery! I finally put the whole thing away for about three months, and when I decided to give it another try, the wood had warped, and there was no way I could tighten the clamps. It's dry in Colorado, so the problem wasn't moisture. Now, it's just a wasted piece of junk sitting in my closet. Making socks on DPN's HAS to be easier! Don't waste your time and energy trying to make this thing work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the loom for speed These KB rectangular-shaped looms (this one and the non-adjustable) were not designed in keeping with being able to hold them and work quickly. If you are used to round knitters, you will find them to be painfully slow. However, there are no round plastic knitters that I am aware of that are of fine enough gauge to make nice non-bulky socks. I have instead ordered an oval-shaped sock knitter from the UK that I'm going to try next.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fairly new knitter I use this to make stuffed toys, small bags and wrist warmers. It works great. I like the stitch size. It is small and easy to use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I thought it would be I have the Martha S. Loom and I love it, so when I saw this I thought that it would be just as easy. Boy was I wrong! This loom works uo slow and no matter how hard I try the stitches come out too tight. I'm sending it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can finally knit socks! I have tried and tried to knit socks with circular needles and double ended needles and always got hopelessly confused. This loom makes sock knitting easy! I have already finished my first pair of socks and look forward eagerly to making many more pairs. The loom itself is hardwood with steel pegs and is much sturdier than any other knitting loom I've tried (and I've tried them all, believe me!). It is easily adjustable. The included DVD makes the process much easier to learn and lays out the stitches step by step. I would buy this again in a heartbeat!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality knittnig loom I own a few plastic knitting looms and I really like this little wooden loom. It adjusts easily and the pegs are very sturdy. The pick isn't as sturdy though, I have a feeling it might break. If it does break, I'll use my knifty knitter pick instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Better Than I First Thought I watched the DVD, which is very very clear on every step of how to make a sock with this loom. It shows how to cast on, knit, purl, make ribbing for cuffs if you want, do heels and toes using short rows wrapping each end of the short row and reinforcing the heel corner, binding off, and sewing the seam on top of the toe. The manufacturer said that fine yarn also works with the sock loom, as well as the DK yarn that it says in the package. Not hard to learn to do either.
