Jumbo happiness!
I’m loving the quality of this jumbo skein. It’s a very sturdy thread with a nice sheen to it, which is what I expect of a good mercerized thread/yarn. I also take into account that when making heirloom pieces, I’d want them to stand the test of time. Not to say that there aren’t some other wonderful crochet threads out there that are softer but having this consistency in a serious jumbo skein is definitely a plus.

Gauge of thread
Hi there....anyone know the gauge of this Jumbo roll. I bought one and love it but I have a special order and I need to know the gauge of this jumbo roll. I have lost the lable and the local JoAnn's says there is no gauge number on the label.

Poor quality
Have bought several of these over the years and the quality has really deteriorated. Hit and miss how stiff the yarn is, have had a skein where the yarn was so stiff that it was almost impossible to work with and now feel the inside of the skein and only buy it if it feels soft (still not a guarantee, found that parts of the skein are very stiff). Also has some areas where the the yarn is thicker and thinner. What is the most annoying is that in this current skein (making a large project so was trying to avoid having to piece the yarn together from skein to skein) the yarn was knotted together 3x so far.

I have use this thread int past making table cloths and doilies. I’m now in the process of making curtains form my dining room and kitchen.

GREAT FOR DYING
I try to purchase as much of this thread as I can when it's on sale. I wind it in 300 yard balls and dye it multi colors and then I soften it. The last few years it has become stiffer than it use to be so it requires the softening.

Superb quality thread for tablecloth and doilies!
I bought this product last month for making a tablecloth and I m using it for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised that it was so smooth,flowing and easy to handle.some of the threads i had used before were always rough and rather starchy stiff. I love this product.No worries about running out of thread in the middle of a large project. I think the thread would much more nicer if it had a slight glimmer or sheen to it.

Great thread to work with
This thread is stiff at first, but it gets easier to work with as you go on. I made a doily with this thread and it turned out great. The thread does have a tendency to twist back on itself, but that's not an issue for me. This was a great deal.

I have been using this for a bedspread using a 1946 pattern. I can make clusters and popcorn stitches with no problem. I have crocheted with fine thread to baleing twine. The only problem I saw was finding the start of the roll (Jumbo Roll) and thread wanting to knot. Size 10 is a good size for beginners using thread and this cotton product is durable and will last.

Jumbo Roll
I crochet for profit, for some reason the jumbo roll is stiff and my projects come out larger. Difficult to crochet fast, due to the stiffness. I will have to go back to the smaller rolls. In my opinion, it should be of same quality as the smaller rolls,,, BUT IS NOT.

I frequently crochet table clothes for wedding/anniversary gifts and perfer to use the large balls of cotton. I don't have to splice the tread as often as I do when using the smaller balls. The only problems I have experienced with this cotton is when I first start a ball the cotton comes off knotted. Please do not stop carrying this product.

I'm doing a 6' wide table cloth and it will take two big balls, and I found the easiest way to get it to unwind as your working is to set it on a table right next to where you're working. I wanted it to finish what I had started with a smaller ball and the color matched perfectly. I do recomend ti for large projects.

I do a lot of crocheting for holiday bazaars and don't need to change balls so often with this jumbo ball, even though it doesn't release at first as easily because of the size and weight of ball. Last jumbo ball is stiff, does not slide on needle or onto itself thus crocheting is very difficult and the loops are large, even using a smaller needle (size 8). Using size 7 as usual is very loopy and loose in addition to stiffness. This is unacceptable and I will be sending a letter to Clarks and Coats about the poor quality. This particular ball is unusable and since I have thrown away the outside wrapping, I can't return for refund.
