SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 3 various size pumpkins
  • Assorted acrylic paints: matte, shimmer and satin finishes
  • Pink glitter
  • Paintbrushes
  • Round foam stamping brushes
  • X-Acto® knife
  • Medium-weight sandpaper
  • Optional: rotary tool
  • Modpodge
  • Matte spray sealer

DIRECTIONS:

Teal Pumpkin (Nonfood treats)

  1. Draw a jack-o-lantern face onto the pumpkin.
  2. Cut out the face using the X-Acto knife or rotary tool.
  3. Sand the inside edges of the cut-outs.
  4. Paint the base of the pumpkin a medium shade of the teal color.
  5. Let it dry.
  6. Use the foam round brushes to stamp the different colored teal circles onto the pumpkin.
  7. Seal with spray.

Rainbow Pumpkin (LGBTQIA)

  1. Draw a jack-o-lantern face onto the pumpkin.
  2. Cut out the face using an X-Acto knife or rotary tool.
  3. Draw 6 even vertical lines on the face of pumpkin from top to bottom.
  4. From just below the nose, draw lines at a 45 degree angle to make up the 5 other color bands.
  5. Paint the rainbow, being careful not to paint where the 45-degree-angle lines start.
  6. Apply the paint for the 45-degree-angle lines.
  7. Let it dry.
  8. Seal with spray.

Pink Pumpkin (Breast Cancer Support)

  1. Draw a large folded pink ribbon onto the pumpkin using the photo as a guide.
  2. Cut out the areas around the crossed ribbon using the X-Acto® knife or rotary tool.
  3. Paint the inside of the pumpkin first with darker shade of pink and the outside a little lighter so ribbon pops.
  4. Add Modpodge to the top of pumpkin, then sprinkle the pink glitter wherever you added the glue.
  5. Let it dry.
  6. Seal with spray.
