STITCH EXPLANATIONS:
inv-dec (invisible single crochet decrease) Insert hook in front loop only of each of next 2 sts, yarn over and draw through both sts, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.
sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) (Insert hook in next st and draw up a loop) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.

NOTES:
Snugglepuff is worked in 13 pieces: Body, 2 Cheeks, 2 Arms, 2 Feet, 2 Outer Ears, 2 Inner Ears, a Face Patch, and a Belly Patch.
Body, Cheeks, Arms, and Feet are worked in continuous rnds (spiral). Do not join first st of rnds to last st with a sl st.
Do not turn at the beg of rnds.
Outer Ears, Inner Ears, Face Patch and Belly Patch are worked back and forth in rows.
To change yarn color when working in rnds, fasten off old color then draw up a loop of new color in same st as joining sl st, as instructed.
To change yarn color when working in rows. Work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st.
Proceed with new color.
Fasten off old color.
Work tightly with a small hook so stuffing wouldn't show through.
Details are embroidered onto piece.

With A, beg at lower edge of Body, ch 32.

Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - you will have 12 sc in this rnd.
Rnd 3: * 2 sc in next st, sc in next st; rep from * around - 18 sc.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing Cheek to Cloud.

ARMS: (Make 2)
With A, beg at hand, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook; do not join, work in continuous rnds.
Place a marker in last st made to indicate end of rnd. Move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - you will have 12 sc in this rnd.
Rnd 3: * 2 sc in next st, sc in next st; rep from * around - 18 sc.
Rnd 4: Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, * sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * to last st, sc in last st - 24 sc.
Rnd 5: * 2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts; rep from * around - 30 sc.
Rnds 6 and 7: Sc in each st around.
Change to B.
Rnds 8-15: Rep Rnd 6 and change yarn color as follows: Work next 2 rnds with B, 2 rnds with C, 2 rnds with D, and 2 rnds with A.
Do not fasten off A.
Bring edges of last rnd together, matching 15 sts along each side. With A and working through both thicknesses, ch 1, sc in next 15 sts to close top of Arm. Do not stuff Arm.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

FEET: (Make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook; do not join, work in continuous rnds.

OUTER EARS: (Make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Row 1: Work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook - 2 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in next st - 3 sc.
Rows 3-9: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st across - 10 sc in Row 9.
Row 10: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st - 12 sc.
Row 11: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Rows 12-17: Rep Rows 10 and 11 for 3 more times - 18 sc in Row 17.
Edging Rnd: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st; work 18 sc evenly spaced along side edge, 3 sc in skipped ch at beg of Row 1, work 18 sc evenly spaced along next side edge; join with sl st in first sc - 59 sc.
Fasten off, weave in ends.

INNER EARS: (Make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rows 1-17: Work same as Rows 1-18 of Outer Ear, changing yarn color as follows: Work first 2 rows with A, 2 rows with B, 2 rows with C, 2 rows with D, 2 rows with A, 2 rows with B, 2 rows with C, 2 rows with D, and 1 row with A. Do not fasten off A.
Edging Rnd: With A, work same as Edging of Outer Ear - 59 sc.
Do not fasten off.
Join Outer and Inner Ear
Place Inner Ear on top of one Outer Ear; with A and working through both thicknesses, sc in each st around; join with sl st in first sc.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

FACE PATCH:
With B, ch 2.
Row 1: Work 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook - 3 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each st across - 6 sc.
Rows 3-8: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st - 18 sc in Row 8.
Rows 9-16: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 17: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st - 20 sc.
Rows 18-27: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 28: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each st to last 2 sts, sc2tog - 18 sc.
Rows 29-36: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Rows 37-42: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each st to last 2 sts, sc2tog - 6 sc in Row 42.
Row 43: Ch 1, turn, (sc2tog) 3 times - 3 sc.
Edging Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn, sc in 3 sts, work 1 sc in end of each row along side edge, 3 sc in skipped ch at beg of Row 1, work 1 sc in end of row along opposite side edge; join with sl st in first sc - 92 sc.
Change to A.
Edging Rnd 2: With A, ch 1, sc in each st around; join with sl st in first sc.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

BELLY PATCH:
With A, ch 2.
Rows 1-43: Work same as Rows 1-43 of Face Patch, changing yarn color as follows: Work first 2 rows with A, (2 rows with B, 2 rows with C, 2 rows with D, 2 rows with A) 5 times, and 1 row with A. Do not fasten off A.
Edging Rnd: With A, work same as Edging Rnd 1 of Face Patch.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

FINISHING:
Using photograph as a guide and yarn tails still attached to pieces whenever possible, assemble Snugglepuff as follows:
With A, sew Belly Patch to Rnds 4-26 and centered on front of Body.
With black scrap yarn, embroider one straight stitch eye between Rows 7 and 18, and one straight stitch eye between Rows 25 and 35 of Face Patch, making each eye about 2 rows tall.
With black scrap yarn, embroider straight stitch outline of mouth between Rows 17 and 26 of Face Patch, about 2 sts below inner edge of eyes. With D, fill in inside of mouth.
With D, sew Cheeks to Face Patch, in line with mouth and with outer edges of Cheeks.
With A, sew Face Patch between Rnds 28 and 50 of Body, in line with Belly Patch.
With A, sew one Ear on each side of top of Body, sew lower edge of Ear in a crescent shape between Rnds 25 and 48 and sew down 3-4 sts of top edge of Ear to Body, to curl ear at inner top.
With A, sew Arms to sides of Body, directly below Ears.
With A, sew Feet to bottom of Body.
Weave in ends.
