SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Lion Brand® Basic Stitch® Anti-Pilling™ Yarn:
    • Baby Pink #101: 1 ball (A)
    • Red Heather #400: 1 ball (B)
  • Lion Brand® Large-Eyed Blunt Needle
  • Strong Cotton Yarn: 5 ft long (check that the yarn can be threaded onto a large-eyed blunt needle)
  • 66 Beads: 1/2" diameter (with center hole large enough to be strung onto cotton yarn)
  • Cardboard: 6 1/2" wide

  • SIZE: About 48" long

DIRECTIONS:

  • NOTE:
    • 21 Tassels are made.
    • Tassels and beads are strung to make the Ggrland.

  • TASSELS: (Make 21 - 11 with A; 10 with B)
    1. Wrap yarn around 6 1/2" cardboard about 30 times.
    2. Cut an 18" length of yarn and thread onto large-eyed blunt needle.
    3. Insert needle under all strands at upper edge of cardboard.
    4. Pull tightly and knot securely near strands.
    5. Cut yarn loops at lower edge of cardboard and remove cardboard.
    6. Bring ends of top knot down and wrap one end tightly around loops about 1/2" below top to form Tassel neck.
    7. Knot securely; thread end onto needle and weave to center of Tassel.
    8. Trim Tassel ends evenly.

  • ASSEMBLY:
    1. Tie one end of cotton yarn into a small loop for hanging.
    2. Thread opposite end onto blunt needle.
    3. Draw threaded needle through beads and tops of Tassels, pushing them to the loop end of the cotton yarn, in the following order: 3 beads, A-colored Tassel, 3 beads, * B-colored Tassel, 3 beads, A-colored Tassel, 3 beads; repeat from * until all Tassels and beads have been strung.
    4. Slide needle off and tie end of yarn into a small loop for hanging.
