Rated 5 out of 5 by from So soft! This yarn is a dream to work with. It is soft, plush and squishy! I knit up a cable scarf in no time. I am hooked on roving yarn to get quick, beautiful results! Going to make a blanket next.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Star stitch Afghan I have used this yarn for several projects and love the results

Rated 3 out of 5 by from One skein was unusable I bought 16 skeins to make an Afghan and the yarn worked up beautifully. The only issues were that the yarn tended to twist quite a bit while I crocheted and my last skein of yarn thinned our at the end from the size of normal bulky yarn to worsted weight. Other than that I liked the yarn!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from eye catching packaging I bought this yarn for a crochet hat and boy am I ever glad I did. It is very easy to work with and makes a very warm and cozy hat, I will definitely buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poly/wool yarn This is a beautiful poly/wool yarn, it will not felt. It has a nice hand and is fuzzy or has a halo. I am using it to make a sweater. It knits up quickly and is loosely woven which is what roving means. I recommend this yarn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look at Yarn Content This is a wonderful yarn for most projects. I saw someone was not happy it wouldn't felt. Please look at the yarns content if you want to felt it. This yarn, though it is a roving only has 20% wool. If you want to felt a project the yarn or roving yarn must be at least 80% wool or other animal fur. Even some animal fur will not felt. And 100 percent is better. Even at 80% it will not felt as much. Man made products do not felt. It can be really disappointing when you make something but it doesn't felt like you wanted. Hope this helps.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I expected I bought roving yarn for felting, but this yarn does not felt. It seems to have some sort of finish that prevents felting. I'm disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Color I went to the store to pick up a few items I recently ordered and went to go pick up. I walked passed the yarn and saw a beautiful pink that caught my eye, I ended up buying 3 and making a beanie right when I got home for my niece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful to work with. Beautiful to work with. That being said, this "roving" has a lot of twist to it, making it very nice to knit or crochet. If you wanted a looser twist roving this is not your yarn. This 80/20 wool blend is surprisingly soft and supple and is nice against the skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Choice! I bought this yarn to use for a new scarf pattern my sister wanted for Christmas. I have never used this type of yarn before, and I loved it! It was super soft and easy to work with. This is a great choice for yarn!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neat texture I bought this to make a floor pouf (ottoman) for my daughter. This yarn worked up quickly with no splitting, and the pouf looks great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from feels incredible! I bought this yarn sight unseen based on a pattern recommendation. I was very pleased. It is very thick and soft, and knits up very quickly. I am not finished with the sweater I am making, but I know it will be soft and warm. It does need gentle handling, as it is roving, and will need careful washing, but I feel it is well worth it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality I started knitting with this yarn & the yarn started falling apart before I finished casting on. It was very soft & pretty looking but looks don't matter when the quality is terrible. I had to send it all back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful Yarn I admit that I am a LYS snob, but tried this yarn because the pattern I purchased used it. I like the texture, feel, and drape this yarn gives to my chunky creations.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I chose the Bernat yarn Bulky #5 in the Plum color I made a long sleeved sweater for my daughter who is a secretary in a school. She needed a warm sweater as it is cold where she sits in the school. She loved the sweater, the color and the weight. I also made her a matching beret which she liked very much. The only complaint I have with the yarn itself is that when you use it to sew seams, the yarn unravels and separates which caused me to throw away several lengths as the yarn was then not the true thickness it should be. Othewise it washed nicely and is very soft as well as very warm. I don't have a picture to show you as my daughter was here just as I finished wrapping it up ( a Birthday present) and I gave it to her then as she lives in VT and would be returning home the next day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to work with. Good basic yarn Was happy w/ yarn. A little disappointed w/ color as I was hoping for a more intense blue but worked fine in color coordination as shown here

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love it I've made at least six scarves using this yarn and I love it. It's much softer (like, so, so soft! basically like a warm, comfy little cloud) than Paton's roving wool yarn, and bulkier too. Like other reviewers said, if you make a mistake and undo some of your piece, it tends to get a little frayed, but I've learned to cope with it. If you're gentle, the yarn won't fray at all while undoing a mistake. I've not experienced anything like that "falling apart" issues some reviewers mentioned. This yarn won't pull apart for me without some serious effort! The colors do seem to be a little off online, but not by too much. Be aware that the plum is in fact a plum color, not purple. The raspberry is a little more magenta in person. The teal is much, much more vibrant in person (really more of a bright turquoise). Overall, however, I'm extremely happy with this yarn. I will be buying it as long as it is available, and it has quickly become my favorite yarn to work with for my crocheting projects.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from BE GENTLE WITH IT AND YOU WILL BE REWARDED YES IT IS FRAGILE, BUT SO WORTH IT ... VIBRANT COLORS, DEFINED STITCHES, NICE WEIGHT. TRY IT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT As just a beginner knitter I'm not a yarn expert but I love this yarn. I haven't had any issues with it pulling apart and there seems to be limited "fuzzies". I'm actually using it as one of several yarns to make a patchwork blanket so I can practice different patterns and yarns. So far so good! :D

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My most-used yarn I love this roving yarn. I use it for all of my chunky crocheted hats. The only time I've had an issue with it pulling apart like some other reviewers have stated is if I am pulling on the strand too tightly. Use a large hook and don't make your stitches too tight and it is a dream. I haven't had it pull apart on me WHILE crocheting, only when finishing with a large sewing needle where I've had to pull quite tightly to secure.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from My skein of yarn fell apart :( The rich color and bulky weight of the yarn is what attracted me but for some reason my skein wasn't well woven. When knitting, the yarn began to fall apart without much stress on the fiber. I'm not sure if mine was bad or the product was :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Soft I love working with this yarn, very soft, single ply avoids the splitting problems when working with a large Q hook, and more yardage per skein than most of the bulky weight yarns. excellent for scarfs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feels like all wool! I bought this yarn to make animal knit hats for my neices and nephew. I thought it was all wool, which I don't normally work with due to allergies. I am surpised it is not all wool because the texture is so wool-like. It's lovely and soft and nice to work with. And I am only sneezing a little!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So comfy and cozy So yeah, some of the reviews I understand their gripe with this yarn. It can pull apart if you are rough with it and if you make a mistake and try to go back it does kind of get knotted and it difficult. But, it is an affordable yarn for a nice acrylic/wool blend so it's not too itchy. I knit a simple ribbed hat and a cable hat with this and both came out so nice and soft and comfy cozy- the ribbed was big so I will adjust the stitches next time. The colors are a bit off but not too bad- this was the plum hat and I would say the color is as it looks online.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware - Colors not as pictured I purchased the plum yarn and it is not as pictured. The photo looks very purple and the yarn is actually more red. It's very burgundy. I then tried to exchange it in store and was told they do not exchange on-line purchases in store. I shop on-line all the time and this is the only retailer I can think of that will not let you return or exchange in store. Rediculous. It wouldn't have been an issue if only their color swatches were accurate on-line.. Not a happy shopper.
