How To Get It
The Dritz 1'' 3Yds Braided Elastic Black comes with distinctive lengthwise horizontal ribs. This pack contains three yards of 1-inch-wide braided elastic which narrows when stretched and is ideal for waistbands and sleeve hems. Simply insert this lightweight elastic into casings or stitch it on the reverse side of fabrics to achieve the desired result. It is machine washable and dryable. Available in different colors, each sold separately.

Ready for work !!
This product was perfect for using in a waistband of men’s work pants that were too large. I laid the elastic across the back of the pants from belt loop to bend loop then subtracted 2 inches and cut it to size (the waist was 38 inches but we needed a 36 inch waist). I cut cut slits on the inside of the pants behind the belt loops for the elastic. I threaded the elastic through with a safety with a safety pin holding one end secure far enough away from the opening so I could zig-zag it shut but close enough for the end of the elastic to stay under the opening and used the other safety pin to pull the elastic thru from one side of the back of the pants to the other side of the back of the pants. I pinned the end of the elastic leaving enough room to zig-zag the opening shut with the elastic neatly tucked inside on each end just under the openings. I used matching thread and was careful to hold the belt loop out of the way. Fast fix !!
