To me it was very confusing to figure out how to use and set up. My 13 year old had to help me out with all of it. But once we got it all set up, it was pretty easy to operate and it worked really well.

When I first opened the box I was shocked to see how neat it looked. It has a small flower on the top left hand corner with a beautiful white color. All I had to do was connect it to my laptop created a design and watch it do it's work. I first started with something simple to see how the quality would come out. I decorated my daughter's room with a lot of nice designs cut straight for it. I was impressed on how it creates everything in a couple of minutes. I don't have any complaints would definitely recommend this product.

Brother designNcut offer so many free clipart and ideas for you to create amazing stuff, and best of all you can use thick paper, plastic, cardboard and metal to make yourself anything. I really like this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I need software for my Mac [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Despite all the pretty instructions and manuals, prepare to invest a significant time into learning on how to understand the machine and the way it operates. Youtube has a tons of manuals/tutorials and how-tos, so explore, do a lot of trials and you will be much happier with this machine. You WILL make mistakes, you WILL cut though your mat, you WILL mess up. If you are afraid of failures, this is not the machine for you. Regarding the learning curve: It’s very helpful if you are computer savvy but you don’t have to be an expert. First of all, it is necessary to download the Design N Cut Manager application which is free. Another down-loadable tool allows you to change the cut and draw pressure, the cut and draw speed and the mat size you are using. I love the fact that you don’t have to subscribe to a service of any sort to be able to use the machine. That service can turn into a money pit in no time. The machine is designed to cut, draw, as well as emboss and it is capable of using so many materials: paper, plastic, fabric, felt, foam vinyl, iron-on, leather and poster board. It appears to be the most affordable cutting machine available and quite versatile. It doesn't matter if you are a Sunday school teacher, crafter or whatever, cutting out things can get really tiresome when you have many to do or they are intricate but this machine can make your project simple and quickly finished. I am a big crafter I am also a homeschool mom this machine comes in handy I am still learning please READ the manual. It is your bible. It tells you invaluable information about this machine. How to clean the mats, how to make them re-sticky, how to prepare fabric etc. I wish I could just insert the fabric and it would come out all pre-cut for me but this is not the case. You need to follow guidelines on how to prepare fabric or any other material to be successful. This machine has endless possibilities for anyone who is willing to invest into both a purchase of this machine and a time to learn it properly.

However, getting it set up is confusing and takes a bit of time. The DesignNCut manager app (which is required to use this product) has issues working for me (on both a computer and mobile device), it takes a very long time to connect to my device. However, I am giving this product 4 stars as once that works (and connects) making patterns and designs are very easy to do. Setting the blade, and loading the paper are also very easy and self explanatory as well.

One of the features I valued was being able to import my own handwriting and images and this accommodates both! Out of the box it’s easy to set up and connect to WiFi. It is a steeper curve to do anything else. Definitely download the user guide, it’s not printed. Download the app and be patient. It has a lot of capability, but isn’t a plug and play machine. It works fantastically once you are able to understand the process. The effort of a bit more input will give you so many more options than the competitors. Overall I like it, and appreciate the ability to really have creative freedom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crafter's Dream [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, the software was a little tricky to figure out, but luckily my fiancé is tech savvy, and it did take some time to set up, but once I it was up and running it worked flawlessly!! I can easily cut paper, fabric, cardstock, vinyl, etc with a breeze. I am so relieved that I no longer have to spend hours cutting out shapes and designs I want and don't have to be limited to the presale designs in the store. It took me a couple of tries for me to get the grid pad and picture scan to work, but I finally got the hang if it. This machine is a dream come true I'm ecstatic that I have this machine in my collection!!!

I've only used it for cutting vinyl, but it does a great job with that. The setup wasn't really all that easy, but I'm pretty decent with technology so I didn't have any issues. If this were to be set up by someone who didn't really have technical know how, it would probably take a bit. The wireless connection works ok, but I prefer the USB connection.

Compared the other design and print products this Brother machine is easy to use. I can photograph anything I want and print it out easily. The storage in the cloud is fantastic. The only issue is purchasing the many accessories needed to complete projects.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy but could be better I was disappointed to find out that the Creative Work space did not work with my Mac. However, I was able to use my I phone as a camera with Creative Work space when it was connected to the the PC and I was able to get Design N cut Manager on my phone. It took me 2 days to get my first cut. I think if I slowed down and read the instructions carefully it would've been easier. Now that it is working I am thrilled with the results! I realize the 2 problems I had. Number 1: make sure that ALL the software is downloaded correctly. Number 2: make sure the blade is inserted correctly. The gray lever needs to be down all the way and the blade needs to be Calibrated correctly.

I actually had to prop my tablet up about 17 inches and it still takes about 3 tries to get a picture that is accepted by the program. But that's better than 20 tries that it took me the first 4 or 5 times. I don't use mine as much as I would like to.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hard to Use I had no trouble using the Scan n Cut 350 and so when I got this through a review program, I assumed it would be easy. Not on your life. I worked until I was exhausted. I never could get it to connect to either my computer with a cord or via our Wifi. A product to be used with a hobby shouldn't be this difficult and for the price, I would have been very upset if I had paid for this and then never was able to get it to work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money This machine deffinetly is not easy to use. Infact it is down right difficult. I've only ever got mine to connect 1 time. All the other times i tryed it said it was connected & then when i go to send my project to the machine it says its not connected. Very agitating. I wish i never purchased this. It wasnt until right after i payed for it that i found out about the scan n cut. Totally wish i had gotten the scan n cut.

I watched severl videos several times & still it is not working for me. I am hoping you improve this function to make it more user friendly.

I can no longer connect wirelessly and have to use the computer. I wish I could get my money back .
