SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 skein - Big Twist - Cream/Licorice
- 1 skein - Big Twist - Cream
- Size 15 Knitting needles and Size 15 double pointed needles
- Stitch holder
- Stitch markers
- Large-eyed needle
DIRECTIONS:
Pattern stitches, K1, p1- Rib stitches at beginning and end of sweater.Stripe Sequence - Work 6 rows/rounds With A, 3 rows/rounds with B.
With straight needles and A cast on 22.
With A, work in K1, p1 rib for 6 rows.
Change to B, on right side, work in St st, (Knit on right side, purl on wrong side) for 3 rows.
At end of last row, cast on 12 stitches.
Piece is now worked in rounds. Continue to change color following stripe sequence.
With Right side facing, divide sts onto 4 needles. Place marker for beg of round. Join by working the first st on the left hand neecle with the working yarn from the right hand needle and being careful not to twist sts - 34 sts.
Rounds 1 - 7 : K22, *K1, p1: rep from * to end of round.
Round 8-10 - Knit
Divide for leg openings
Round 11- K 22 sts for back, place next 12 sts on a holder for underpiece.
Back
Change back to straight needles and work in st st worked rows across rem 22 sts for 9 rows then place these sts on a st holder.
Underpiece
Return the 12 sts for underpiece to straight needles, ready to work a RS row.
Decrease Row (RS) K1, k2tog, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1 (10 sts)
Work in st st for 3 rows.
Rep Decrease Row (8 sts rem.)
Rep last 4 rows until( 6 sts rem.)
Join Back and Underpiece
Place 7 rem underpiece sts and 22 back sts onto double pointed needles, with 7 sts on each of the 4 needles (28 stitches)
Place marker for beg of round.
Join by working the first st on the left hand needle with the working yarn from the right hand needles.
Knit 1 round
Next Ribbing
With A, work in K1, p1 rib worked in rounds for 6 rounds.
Bind off.
