Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price for this product. I purchased this to replace a Rowenta iron that had a short in the cord. It heats up very quickly and puts out a ton of steam. Working well so far and the price was great compared to other irons I looked at ...half the price! It is noticeably heavier than my previous iron- may be a factor for some.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A nice iron The Conair Extreme Steam Pro Iron works very well. The reason I did not give it a five-star rating is because it is a little difficult to tell for sure which setting you are on. The mark is under the handle. With my bifocals I can't see it and have to do it by feel. The iron puts out lots of steam and the mist feature works very well. I was able to iron out an edge on a tea towel that I hadn't been able to do with my previous iron. It is not too heavy, nor does it feel lightweight. I have only had it for a short while so I can't tell how long it will last. Yes, I would recommend this iron to a friend. I got the iron as a black Friday special. Otherwise, it seems a little pricey.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It seems pretty good I've only used it once so far. It seems pretty good but it says that it doesn't leak but some water did leak out of it while I was using it at the highest heat setting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GOOD Iron! I've been a diehard Rowenta fan for many years, but after the most recent one went bad within a few months, and I looked back to realize I had to purchase a new one every other year once the constant leaking became unbearable, I decided to try something new. This iron has many steam holes like the Rowenta but none of the leaking. It also has a nice, even steam when using the iron rather than huge bursts of steam that can burn the user and really just aren't necessary (that's the purpose of the Burst of Steam feature!). I use the middle setting for steam, but the steam-slide can be pushed all the way to the right if you really need the Extreme Steam the iron promises. It takes a lot of water that lasts! Once the iron is turned on, it heats quickly and there's an audible click that lets you know the iron is hot. If you leave it unused/unmoved, there will be a audible beep, beep, beep, and the iron goes to sleep. Careful, though - the soleplate does not cool off completely when on idle - it stays quite warm so the iron will quickly heat up again when you move it. All in all, this is a good, serviceable iron that does what it's supposed to do - heat up, give steam, and turn off automatically if sitting idle for safety purposes. No leaking onto your fabric or ironing board - just head and steam when you need it which makes ironing much faster since you won't have to clean up the puddles of water coming out of that other iron!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This old school sewer likes a nicely pressed seam! I press as I sew. This is a great iron for giving me nice flat open seams!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Conair Steam Iron Very nice Iron. It has great Steam which is why I purchased it. It heats quickly. Price was great as that was a factor for me as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Steamer This iron is big and heavy, but I like it because it steams well, and presses seam flat. I use it mainly for pressing seams when I am sewing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A solid iron with a few annoying features This iron is overall pretty fantastic. I did have the talc come out the first time I ironed with it, but now it's fine and I haven't had the water issues. This is the first nice iron I've owned, and I am so impressed with it. It's sturdy and presses the heck out of my seams. It is a great steamer, but it uses up water really quickly. I like that it has a self cleaning feature to prevent calcium build up. What I don't love is that it beeps at you every few minutes to let you know it's still plugged in, and it beeps at you if it is face down for more than like 10 seconds. I guess it's so forgetful people don't burn their houses down, but I wish there was an option to turn the sounds off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute WORST iron I have ever encountered!!! This iron had a 5 star review from someone - so I took a chance and bought it on black friday. When it arrived I put water in it, plugged it in, turned it on, and got out a piece of black cotton to test it with. Once it was heated up I put it on steam and started to iron with it...I pumped the steam a few times and white TALC spurted out EVERYWHERE!!! (Note this is why you should *always* test your new iron on black fabric!!!) I then set the iron down on the ironing board so I could pick up the fabric and shake off the talc, because I was giving it a chance...thought perhaps since it was its first use that maybe it would get over itself and clear itself out, but NO! I tried again and the same thing - white TALC everywhere! Then I noticed that the spot I had set the iron down on was wet!! So I pick the iron up to look at it and watch the waterline literally draining as the ENTIRE tank is emptying out the vent holes of the iron plate and onto my hardwood floor!!! I am absolutely furious! This iron is literally a piece of JUNK!!! Please don't waste your hard earned money on this piece of cr*p! It is being returned immediately!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Well Made Iron Many of the steam irons made in the last decade are shoddy at best and appear to have been designed by engineers who very likely never ironed a day in their lives. When my steam iron of 17 years service began acting up I was discouraged as I went through three irons (from other manufacturers, before I found this one by Conair. It irons well, holds more water than other lessor irons, water level is easily viewed, is self-cleaning and has a great non-stick plate.
