HEAD:
Beginning at top of head, ch 2.
Rnd 1 (RS): Work 9 sc in 2nd ch from hook; do not join, work in continuous rnds (spiral).
Place marker in last st made to indicate end of rnd. Move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - you will have 18 sc in this rnd.
Rnd 3: * Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 27 sc.
Rnd 4: * Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 36 sc.
Rnd 5: * Sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 45 sc.
Rnd 6: * Sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 54 sc.

Stuff Body firmly with fiberfill stuffing.

Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in each st around; join with sl st in first sc.
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing Ears to Body.

FINISHING:
Note: Refer to photograph for placement when sewing pieces together.
Sew Ears to Head.
Sew Arms and Legs to Body.
Stuff Tail and sew to Body.
With black yarn, embroider straight st nose.
Tie a length of yarn and tie around neck around Bear's neck.
Safety Note: Omit neck tie if Bear will be used as a toy.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) (Insert hook in next st and draw up a loop) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.

NOTES:
Bear is made from 8 pieces: Head/Body, Tail, 2 Ears, 2 Arms, and 2 Legs.
Because pieces are sewn together, do not leave young children unattended with Bear.
Exact gauge is not important for this project. Work tightly so that stuffing does not show through spaces between stitches.
