Perfect for a beginner
I bought this woodburner for my grandson. It is perfect for a beginner. I use the Walnut Hollow Versa Tool, but he doesn't need all that. My grandson received a woodburner for Christmas that came with only a universal tip. It didn't heat up consistently and was dangerous and difficult to use.I replaced it with this one from Walnut Hollow and it's great!

Read reviews before buying
I made the mistake of buying this wood burning tool on impulse. There are many cons to the device: cord isn't very long, power switch is awkward and can throw off the balance of the pen, it's bulky, the "heat shield" does very little, your fingers will still get warm if not hot. But my biggest con is where the grip is. Your holding this thing in the middle, which for me is not comfortable, nor do I have the best control of my design. Details are very hard because of this... Only true pros I can say is that it heats up okay, and I didn't invest much into it. I plan on doing more research next time!

Disappointed
The base heats up fine however, the bits do not. I get more and more frustrated every time I use these. I cannot make any fine lines and the shader, well it does not allow me to create shading properly. I would never buy this one again. If you want one, I have one I will sell you, cheap!

Exceptional tool at a great value
This tool is an exceptional woodburning tool and is priced at a great value. Also includes an On/Off switch in the cord as an additional safety feature. Great product and would buy again!!!

I had a previous woodburner that broke, and I had to finish Christmas presents. My son bought this for me. The previous woodburner had a double collar. This particular woodburner has a single collar, gets hot where I hold it, and makes it uncomfortable to work with after 10 or 15 minutes of use.

would buy again!!
I bought this a few years back, and it works great. It heats up fast, and the attatchments are great. It has lasted me, and is still goin strong. Not bad for the price.
