So shiny and wonderful!
It was super easy to sew and iron on and adds a shiny touch to a ballgown that I made. It was my first time using a material like this and I had a pleasant experience I recommend this to anyone!

Beautiful material
I bought this material to make my daughter a quilt. She gave me a Demask pattern I so I begin to hand stitch one stitch at a time... love the look. Thanks Joan’s.

Love this stuff!
I use this to make Harry Potter robes, witches hats, and graduation robes for 18" dolls. It is so versatile and the crepe backing makes it easier to work with than plain or stretch satin.

I made my grand-daughter a party dress using this lovely satin and matching lace as overlay. It came out so beautiful.

Great weight
I was in search of a satin fabric that had a little muscle to it. I needed this fabric to make the chair adornments for the chaivari chairs at my daughter's wedding. It
had to be a fabric that wouldn't wilt and flop down but yet it had to be satin to go
along with the other fabrics in the wedding and the overall theme of the wedding. This fabric met that need. It is crepe backed so really you could use either side. The satin side was a beautiful finish, the color was perfect and it was exactly what I was looking for. Plus I got it on sale for 50% off!

I use this on a consistent basis!
I use the crepe back satin casa collection fabric in three different colors constantly and love pairing it with the casa collection laces! the colors are always so bright and consistent from bolt to bolt.

Received less than I ordered
The gold crepe back satin fabric was great in texture and color. However, the total yards of fabric received was less than I ordered, and insufficient for the planned project. Sent it back. Got a refund, but still had to pay for return shipping.

Perfect Color
I bought this material to make a wedding dress for my cousin, I am so excited about it. The color is perfect and matches perfectly with the lace that was bought (at Joanns) to go with it. We can afford to give her the dress of her dreams because of Joann's!

Luscious fabric
I used this for a Belle costume commission. In the past, I've used the standard Casa satin or glitter satin, and was perfectly happy with them. But THIS was fabulous - so much subtler and more sophisticated, and the crepe-back meant I could make the waistband non-slippery while still looking pretty.
BTW, this does still fray; although not nearly as badly as the other satins in the Casa collection.

A good sturdy use satin fabric
The crepe back satin has good body and strength for satin garments and accents where you need something more stable than regular satin. It doesn't drape as well as other crepe satins I've used but the hand is nice and has good structure if you want something firm. It's also a bit more matte finish so it photos well for use in finer evening or special occasion garments than the lighter weight casa version.

Gorgeous fabric!
I bought this fabric to make an evening gown in a mint green no longer available online but available in my local store. The color is gorgeous and the texture of the fabric makes this so much better than regular shiny satin. It washes well too, which is great b/c I have the knack of spilling on myself... I used french seams or serged and top stitched seams trapped by lining so no fraying. Quick tip, I used a lighter to CAREFULLY singe/melt the edge of my cut pattern pieces (like you would a ribbon) to keep any fraying while I sewed my complicated gown. These melted edges were all cut off and finished or hidden within seams anyways... This has become my go-to shiny special occasion fabric. Sad to see them cutting back on colors... Luckily there's usually more options in stock in stores.

It's perfect for what I need. I'm using it in gold as lining for a King cloak (Kageyama from Haikyuu). The only issue with it is it frays a lot so you have to finish your ends. If you do that then you shouldn't have any issues!

Beautiful fabric!
I bought this ivory/ecru satin to make a pair of pillow cases for a friend. They turned out very nice and my friend loves them. She was having trouble finding the right size for her special pillows, and I solved her problem, thanks to Joann's.

Loved it!
Love it! I used a french seam to prevent fraying always works like a charm. A french seam is done by sewing two pieces wrong side together then flipping it and sewing right sides together incasing the seam. Even a serger will not prevent eventual fraying on this fabric.

Great, but needs PREP
There were concerns over this fabric not being as soft and fraying badly, but at the end of the day it's polyester! I took the extra time to go ahead and use my overcast stitches before I hemmed or attached some bias tape and have had no further fraying issues.

Nice, multi-purpose satin
I bought this in white for a fancy cocktail dress and it turned out beautifully. I used the shiney side for the outside, and the crepe side for the lining.(Better to use a chiffon for the skirt lining to keep things light). The shiney side looks great, the crepe side is soft against the skin. Compaired to the cheap satins, this one is easy to work with just a little care on the sewer's part. I bought more to make a dramatic cape to match the dress and I was the "best dressed" that evening!

nice for evening clothes
I have been using this material, all colors. It is washable, with care--stains come out. Also, I use French seams on all good material, and it works well, so
no fraying I--however I have been sewing since high school. Took one course of sewing and made a dinky apron.
I got a bright Idea a@ 17 to start sewing, with no classes. A few years ago I found out that one of my ancestors owned a sewing business in Europe, so that is where I picked up the sewing talent, and my sewing is professional,

Poor quality
This fabric is not what it used to be. I used to purchase this fabric on a regular basis for evening wear and it actually had a "crepe" side and a "satin side". Since I use both the right and wrong sides of the fabric, this is important to me. Over the years, this product has changed and I can no longer use the "crepe" side, as it just looks like the wrong side of the fabric. The quality has changed drastically, even the shiny satin side looks cheap now. I would now only use this fabric for costumes.

Plan on buying again!
I made a skirt for my cousin's wedding out of this fabric, and it turned out beautifully. The drape is very nice. I did notice that it snagged a little bit, but it wasn't bad at all. I would highly recommend this fabric.

Not for Blouses or Extensive Wear
I purchased some white crepe back satin in-store to make a 40s style blouse. It was on sale, so I went with it. This was a BAD mistake. It frayed not only along unfinished seams, but also around the stitching itself (and I used the proper needle and weight thread). Even after applications of Fray-Check, it continued to fray where the bias ran diagonal to the stitches. Definitely not recommended for clothing beyond one-time wear, or even that. Previously I thought it might be a random thing when the bridesmaid dress I made out of blue casa crepe back satin frayed out on a seam in less than a day (and the seam was not a strained one). But apparently this was giving too much credit to the fabric. I will not be using this again.

Wonderful fabric...will buy again!
I just bought 7 yds of ivory to make the hakama for my Lord Sesshomaru costume. I made it satin side in, crepe side out. This cloth is so buttery soft and drapible. I made wonderful pleats for my hakama. Love it!

Wrong side
I love the way Casa handles, but I'm not a "shiny" person, so I prefer the "wrong" side. My daughter is using it for bridesmaids' dresses which I am sewing for them. A matching sleeve lining shows on the bride's dress.

Snags easily
I bought this fabric to make a 30s-style evening dress. It sews wonderfully, but be careful or it will snag (I found this out while wearing the dress).

I just bought this fabric in ivory for my wedding dress at Joannas today and it is beautiful! I looked at the casa satin and it looked it wasn't even satin. I am very happy with this fabric
