My daughter bought this engraving tip and quick swap for Christmas. I have an explore 2 and cannot use this tip with my machine. Of course I opened it to try it and found out it is not compatible with my machine, so my daughter is so upset that she wasted her money on this useless gift she got for me. I can’t even return it now that it is opened. Seems like the only machine focused on is the more expensive one, the Maker. Very disappointed, and sad. Was looking forward to expanding my projects into new territory. I will refrain from asking for Cricut products as a gift in the future.

Works so wonderful! Used on stainless steel bottle openers for gifts. Effortlessly engraves and does a good job. Between projects need to clean off metal shavings, but that is to be expected.

Engraving is limited
I had high hope, but the engraver is limited in its capabilities. Used the tool to engrave aluminum cuffs. Does not work well on texture, there's a lot of 'set up' time that goes into trying to place an item correctly, which results in a lot of waste.
