The DMC Pearl Cotton Size 5 27Yds is made from 100% cotton thread and can be used to add a lovely stain luster to your cross-stitching, embroidery and other needlework projects. This cotton embroidery thread is a unique double mercerized, non-divisible, lustrous needlepoint thread that comes on a twisted skein and has a lovely pearlized sheen. 100% colorfast, this embroidery thread does not fray or fluff and can be used to add beautiful texture and volume to your fabric designs. This Size 5 pearl cotton thread is available in a vast range of stylish solid and variegated colors for you to choose from. Available in two sizes, each skein measures 27 yards.

Great for Blanket Stitching Flannel Blanket
I Used this #5 to bind a king size flannel blanket, it was much easier to work with than using 6 strand embroidery floss. Knots securely, pulls through the layers easily, very strong stuff but the blanket hems lay really nice. I love the look of the variegated colors on my hems and I have purchased other colors of it for my next three blankets.

Perfect for Sashiko embroidery!
I have been using DMC Pearl Cottons for over 20 years. DMC makes the loveliest Pearl Cotton - it reflects the light better than any others I've used. It just seems to shimmer. It comes in 4 common sizes, from largest diameter size 3, to size 5 which is perfect for my Sashiko work, to the more common sizes 8 and 12, the finest diameter, which are both good for other embroidery. It may be available in other sizes, I just haven't seen any others.
There are 3 styles of colors available. Regular Pearl Cotton is a solid color, Variegated Pearl Cotton is the style you want if you need a color which has a very regular color shift from light (tint) to dark (shade) at very regular intervals. DMC Pearl Cotton Variations' colors shift and change with tints & shades, but also across a wide range of complementary colors too, and not at regular intervals.
Size 5 Variations is what I use the most often, and it's becoming difficult to find. Many JoAnn's carry the Solid colors and sometimes the Variegated, but most don't carry the Variations, but the largest JoAnn's do. None of those are within driving distance of my home, so I am very happy to have discovered all the colors of DMC size 5 Variations are available in JoAnn's online store.

Perfect for the project
I purchased these with the intention of making candle holder covers. They are perfect. The amount of thread is just enough for one candle holder, and because of the variegated coloring no two are alike!

Love this variegated pearl cotton size 5
I bought this recently and sent some to a friend in the UK. SHe is making the bracelets with flowers I taught her to do on a recent visit. The mail man was very surprised when she nearly kissed him as the parcel arrived. She has been making things for a cancer hospice in the UK so your beautiful threads are going to a good cause.

Excellent Product
I used this to knit some bracelets from a knitty.com pattern (perdita) and it came out beautifully. I've always loved DMC embroidery floss, and this variegated pearl/perle cotton is the same high quality in gorgeous colors. I plan to buy several more colorways to add to my stash, and may use some to hand quilt on some doll quilts I have to finish. Pearl cotton give a really nice look when used to hand quilt.
