    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very cute, cartoon-like shank buttons. These are shank buttons. They are very cute, and work for my mixed media projects. I'm including a couple pictures showing one on a project, where I *did* cut off part of the shank to make it fit in. Also shows size in reference to a penny and the front/back of a few. I imagine it's fine for sewing. I think these cats are cute and whimsical, especially worth the sale price.

They are a bit hard to size for buttonholes, so perhaps they are best for embellishment rather than as a closure. I'd recommend buying multiple packages to match buttons if you need multiples--the sizing differences otherwise would require less-than-uniform buttonholes.
