How To Get It
Fiskars Preschool Training Scissors feature a special training lever that opens the blades after each cut, helping children learn how to cut more easily. When the child has mastered opening and closing the scissors, the training lever can be flipped up for traditional cutting action so they feel like a “big kid.” Fiskars preschool scissors include blunt blades that cut only paper, plus blunt tips for added safety. They're the best training scissors I've used, as we have a few pair of Fiskars now after my daughter used a different brand at school and was still having trouble with them. She's 2.5 years old and uses these like a pro. She also loves the fun colors. Really excellent product, very safe and cut just right.

Works great for little hands!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently had the opportunity to try these Fiskars Training Scissors and they work great. These scissors feature metal edges which I prefer to the cheap plastic edge. They work well at cutting but the secret is really in the training portion. My son is just learning to use scissors and has no real issue with the closing but sometimes has a little problem with opening his hand which in turn opens the scissors. These feature a small lever which you can keep out of the way and use the scissors like normal or open and put in place causing the scissors to open after closing to cut something automatically. This feature does not sound like much but after using them in this manner for just a few days he figured out what I was trying to do explain to him for weeks in opening his hand back up. It’s genius and really simplified what I was trying to teach him. I’m really happy with these scissors and would recommend them to anyone with a little one just learning to use them!

Nice scissors
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 3 year old loves them! The little safety tab on them so they open back up after squeezing makes it so much easier for his little hand to work then. They are very sharp though. I was expected plastic blades or a guard so I really had to watch him to make sure he was away from his fingers. But I love these and would buy multiple pairs for anyone with little fingers in a house.

Perfect for little ones.

It has a little piece in the middle that you can pop down to prevent the scissors from staying closed. It really helps the littler kids that can trouble opening them back up after making a cut! The kids love the bright colors and they cut really well too. All around a great product!

These are so helpful for little hands!

He’s gotten a bit better since being in preschool, but he still hasn’t mastered how scissors work. I picked these up because I thought they’d help give him some guidance with the proper hand placement and motion used for scissors.
These are really such cool training scissors! I love the “latch” system which activates a spring that helps the scissors bounce back when opening/closing. They assist little hands by doing some of the hard work for them by teaching them how to properly maneuver the scissors. They are also true training scissors, so they don’t easily cut every day items in the kitchen; I tried to use them to quickly open a package of food, and they did not easily cut through the plastic. As such, I’d feel comfortable letting my child use these for crafts and projects.

Great for 3 year old

The scissors have a protective plastic over the blades so that they can’t cut themselves as easily. These scissors cut very well still and make it very easy for children to learn how to use them appropriately. I would recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fiskars are a staple in our house, and now that I have kids learning how to cut trying these was a no brainer. One of my sons has some OT needs, and his therapist has suggested something like this to assist him with focusing more on the turning of the paper/left hand work while he gets his coordination down. I was so amazed by how well he used these scissors and how much he liked them.
