Flannel and Trim Christmas Stockings

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Stocking #1
• 2/3yd ea of polar bear fabric, lining & fusible fleece
• 1/4yd ea cuff & fusible fleece
• 1/8yd contrast for piping
• 1 pkg piping cording
• 1/2yd white pom pom trim
• Basic sewing supplies


• Stocking #2
• 2/3yd ea holly print, lining & fusible fleece
• 1/4yd ea cuff & fusible fleece
• 1/2yd red pom pom trim


• Stocking #3
• 2/3yd ea plaid fabric, lining & fusible fleece
• 1/4yd ea cuff & fusible fleece
• 1/8yd contrast for piping
• 1 pkg piping cording

DIRECTIONS: (1/2" seam allowance)

Stocking #1

1. Cut two each from stocking pattern: polar bear print, fusible fleece and lining.
2. Cut two 7"x 17" for cuff and one 7"x 17" from fusible fleece.
3. Make piping from contrast fabric.
4. Fuse fleece to front and back of stocking.
5. Sew piping to front stocking.
6. With RST, stitch front and back stocking.
7. Fuse fleece to one cuff.
8. Sew piping to front of cuff.
9. With RST, stitch front and back cuff together at piping edge.
10. Open up cuff and stitch side seam.
11. Fold WST, and press.
12. Stitch pom pom trim to bottom of cuff.
13. Pin cuff to top of stocking having raw edges even.
14. Cut a 2 1/4"x 8" strip for hanging loop.
15. Fold in half with RST and stitch a scant 1/4" seam along the long edge.
16. Turn and press.
17. Fold loop in half and pin to top of stocking.
18. With RST, stitch lining together leaving an opening for turning.
19. Place lining over stocking with RST and stitch along top opening.
20. Stitch opening closed.
21. Insert lining into stocking.
22. Topstitch along the top of the stocking.

Stocking #2

1. Cut two each from stocking pattern: polar bear print, fusible fleece and lining.
2. Cut two 7"x 17" for cuff and one 7"x 17" from fusible fleece.
3. Fuse fleece to front and back of stocking.
4. With RST, stitch front and back stocking.
5. Fuse Fleece to one cuff.
6. With RST, stitch front and back cuff together at long edge.
7. Open up cuff and stitch side seam.
8. Fold WST, and press.
9. Stitch pom pom trim to bottom of cuff.
10. Pin cuff to top of stocking having raw edges even.
11. Cut a 2 1/4"x 8" strip for hanging loop.
