Heavy metal
I opted to go with the Gengher scissors as they are all metal onstruction. They are a little bit heavier, but I like the feel of structure. I found them to be particularly Sharp and effective at cutting through fabric well. For the investment, if well maintained, I expect him to be a lifetime purchase.

Wonderful scissors
I had gotten a pair of these years ago from my grandmother and loved them. Found them at JoAnn and purchased another pair (these come with a protective sheath). BEST scissors ever! I can cut multiple layers of fleece, and they go through denim and outdoor fabrics very easily. Haven't used my Fisckars scissors since.

Always sharp!
I own several different types of Gingher Scissors - the only kind I will ever own for all my sewing projects. The cutting edge stays sharp and I aways get a precise cut with them. I have owned the dressmaker hears for about 8 years and use them all the time as I make blankets and quilts. Just recently replaced an old pair of pinking shears (not Gingher but sentimental as they were my mom's) with a pair of Gingher and don't know why I waited so long. I have recommended this brand to many friends and have given them as gifts.

Best scissors
I have had a pair of these scissors for a while now. I have had many pair over the years and could not find any that would maintain the cutting ability with the entire blade. They would either cut just at the tip or in the middle. When shopping at Joann's I was buying material and I asked the gal cutting what kind of scissors she was using and it was the Gingher 8" dressmaker shears. She highly recommended and I bought a pair. I am very glad I did. They are my favorite.

Sharpest scissors ever!
I received these scissors as a gift many years ago they have stayed as sharp as if they were when they were new they are my go to and my only scissor I use to cut fabric with. My only complaint is they are a little heavy but I do love them!

Reply to "Shears "too hard to open and close"
If shears are too hard to open and close, they simply need to be loosened just a tiny bit at the screw...the only screw, in the middle of the scissor. Not too much or they will be wobbly, or at worst...fall apart!
