Half price thread but only if you order on line??I don't understand how it benefits Joann for their customers to have to place an order on line just to pick up those items in store. Why can't I get those items in store at the on line sale price? It would take the burden off the employees who I'm sure have plenty to do other than to go and pick the items off the shelves when I could do it myself. It's ridiculous. With that being said how does it benefit Joann?

Keeps breakingI use this thread in a 4-thread Husqvarna serger, and it breaks about every foot. It’s useless for this machine. Perhaps it would work with a different one.

Misleading colorBought the color “topaz” thinking it’s a mustard yellow like the picture shows. It turned out to be orange! Will have to return.

Colors do not match picture. At. All.The colors in the pictures on the website have almost nothing to do with the colors of the thread. Search for "toldi lock thread color chart" to find someone with a good chart. "Charcoal" is a very light gray. "Hydrangea" is a bright purple and "Dahlia" is very light purple, almost gray.
I only just bought my serger and haven't used this thread yet, so I can't speak to the quality, but it looks good.

Google the colors online before orderingAfter waiting for my order to be delivered. I was bummed that the color didn't not match what I thought I had ordered. Dahlia is a light purple not the pink that it appears to be in the photo and Hydrangea is nice rich purple but not the bright magenta I was expecting. Now I have a lot of purple thread and no pink overlocker thread that I was in need of.....

HydrangeaColor does not reflect actual product. Photo on the website looks more of a magenta, which is what I was expecting to get. What I received was a dark purple. Hopefully Joann can update the photos to depict actual color. Still a beautiful purple color, but now I have to search for another one to match the original color I needed.

pretty good lightweight threadThe Toldi-Lock thread works well for me on my serger. It is rather lightweight and I have had it break a couple of times, but considering how much I’ve been using my serger lately making masks, it’s perfect for me.

NOT made in GermanyI purchased several colors of Toldi-Lock serger thread in store and like the quality for the price. HOWEVER, my thread is made in India (stated on label), NOT Germany like the Website description says. The Gutermann serger thread made in Germany is called the Mini-King and costs a bit more. I am pleased with this thread....all my MaxiLock thread is fuzzy looking and I will throw away, but this thread looks smoothe without bumps and my serger has no problems with it. I just wish Joann would change the info on their website to reflect that the thread is made in India.

This is SERGER threadI have used this thread in my serger for several years without any problem with the "blobs" mentioned by other reviewers. I have had no problems with breakage, cut thread or other quality factors. Gutermann says this is serger (overlocking) thread, as the name Toldi-lock suggests. See my photo. It is not home sewing machine thread. There are differences.
The description on JoAnn's website is misleading. People may have had a problem with the thread not passing through the eye of the needle because of the size of the needle. Sergers usually use a size 12 (80) or 14 (90) needle. The smaller the size of the needle, the smaller the eye. The eye on a size 11 (70) might be too small for this thread. Just a thought, as I have never put size 70 needles on my serger. However, I have another problem. The color pictures of this thread on the website are poor representations of the actual color. They also have only names for the color, not the numbers that Gutermann usually uses (which aren't much use without a picture!). I don't recommend trying to buy this thread on-line, although I love shopping on-line from JoAnn's for fabric and sewing supplies. It's hard to buy Gutterman Toldi-Lock thread on-line. I buy it in-store at JoAnn's. I really like the fresh Toldi-Lock colors like the bright medium blue in my photo. I'm glad to see JoAnn's offering Toldi-Lock on-line because I think the issue about knowing exactly what color you are actually ordering will probably get fixed and in my experience, this is great serger thread.

Great dealI had a 50% off coupon, so this was worth the risk for me. I use it on my Brother machine, rather than on a serger, which is what it was made for, so of course I had the occasional breakage, until I adjusted the tension settings. I love not running out of thread as quickly as I do with normally sized spools, so I plan to buy cones in all the colors I normally sew with (navy, grey, white, black, pinks, etc.)

fun colorsMy sister has just tried it on her long arm quilter and it quilted up beautifully. There is a ton of quilting where she is using it and there is no build up of thread and no lint. I know you shouldn't us the serger thread but when it is just a pillow sham, it did work great. The ONLY thing that I would suggest is to have the numbers coordinate with the color and on the thread so it is easy to re-order. THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL !!!!!

Works great for me!My serger is finicky, and this thread works perfectly in my machine! This is the only brand I've found to work in the needles of my machine, anything else just pops out of tension. It has less fly-away fibers than the cheap stuff, its strong and comes in a variety of colors. If my serger likes it, so do I!

No problem on my serger!Bought both Toldi-Lock and the "better" quality Mini King, both Gutterman products, to try on my serger. Very happy with the performance of Toldi-Lock serger thread and will purchase again?

Horrible thread!I bought several cones of this thread, based on the reputation of the company. The quality is horrible! It is flimsy - it breaks easily if pulled on in any way. Can;t be used for gathering even, because it breaks so easily. It also has knots or lumps that can't go through the needle.. Absolutely worthless and will be thrown away!

Don't buy this!I have used this brand of thread for years. This is my first experience with this specific thread. I had nothing but trouble. It contains many little blobs that won't pass through the eye of the needle.

Horrible!I bought this thread this past weekend, I was looking for an economical option but this thread is just horrible. Better to pay more for a higher quality.
