Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love what I can make with this! I bought this in blue and in silver to accent the graduation announcements I was making for my daughter, but have used it for much more! I love that it comes in a large roll. I simply trim it down to size using my paper trimmer (one swipe and it's neatly cut). I don't have a minc machine but this foil works great when it's run through a laminating machine on laser printed card stock. I run it through 4 or 5 times, depending on the amount of coverage I want. (If I run it through 3 times, the foil and toner have a cool granite look. If I run it through 4 or more times, the coverage is more uniform and wonderfully glossy.) So far, I have made greeting cards, her grad announcements, thank you cards, and a graduation photo prop! I'm looking forward to experimenting with it to see what else I can make!

Thanks Joann for having such great sales!! This foil works very well for adding that special touch to any type of paper and fabric crafts. I highly recommend and I will definitely be buying more from Joann's, who has the best price on this foil around.

They work wonderful. I don't have the minc machine but I do use a laminator machine I have and works perfect. I will definitely be purchasing more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! I bought this a few months ago for my wedding invitations. It works great and the invitations look so beautiful with the gold foil. It's a little hard to get the tape off the foil to use it but other than that everything runs smoothly through my minc machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my needs This was my first venture into foiling, so I have nothing to compare with. I'm a teacher of non-credit English as a Second Language at a community college. For years, I'd been using "attendance" and "perfect attendance" certificates I'd buy from a teacher supply company, and would use a template to fill them in. We have a new dean who is a stickler that the word "award" should be used, not "certificate" (which signifies a "certification" of having obtained certain skills). I couldn't find pre-printed certificates with the word "award," and had to make my own. I studied craft websites and YouTube to learn how to foil, went to my local JoAnn, bought the Heidi Swapp Reactive Foil, and voilà, I produced certificates so awesome, my students have proudly uploaded theirs on their Facebook pages! I used parchment paper (regular certificate/diploma paper) and my trusty laminator, on the 5 mil setting. I used red foil for "perfect attendance," and gold for two stars above the letters. I used plain legal-sized photocopy paper, folded at one end, for the carrier, and taped down the foil with the sticky end of post-its which had been cut down to the sticky strip. Upon huge magnification, one can definitely see "spots," but for something of this nature (as opposed to wedding invitations), it meets the bar of excellence. These certificates are so much more beautiful and impressive than the pre-printed certificates that I'm actually glad this all came about! Also, I learned a new skill! Now, I just need to be awarded a "Certificate of Foiling"!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rose Gold Purchased a roll of this foil in the color "Rose Gold". Beautiful rose gold color. Really cool product that is easy to use. I used this foil with a household iron on artwork that I had printed at the UPS Store. I did get some black specks in the final product - but I think there must be a trick to getting a perfect foil result. Others who have used the pre made Heiddi Swap Minc kits don't seem to have a problem with specks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does a beautiful job! In the 1990s, before there were color printers, we used foil with laser printers to transfer color to paper. I have been foiling things ever since, sometimes using my laser printer & sometimes using a laminator. The Heidi Swapp Minc overcomes many of the problems that I have always experienced. Because it has 3 rollers, the paper & foil stay in better contact, thereby assuring a good transfer of the foil to the paper project. It is WAY better than the "spotty" results I used to get with the laminator and/or my laser printer. I have done 50th wedding anniversary invitations, bridesmaids luncheon invitations, wedding programs & cards, all with very good success. Is it perfect? No. But it is about 95% greater than any results that I have achieved in the past. You can buy laser foil online for about 1/3 of what Heidi Swapp's foil sells for & the other brands work great in the Minc. (The other laser foil colors are not always as pretty as Heidi Swapp's are, however.) The Minc is one of my all-time favorite crafting machines & I recommend it completely!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful, however... I have the Minc machine and have made a few items and they are quite lovely. However, I do agree with a previous review that they aren't perfect. The larger portion on a card came out with a blemish that I hadn't noticed on the foil before I started, so in the future I plan to look more closely.
