Hero Arts April 2022 Card Kit – Mother’s Day Card

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• April 2022 Make Yourself at Home Hero Arts Card Kit
• Hero Arts Intense Black Dye Ink Pad
• Clear Embossing Powder
• Black Pigment Ink
• White Cardstock
• Iridescent Sequins
• Paper Trimmer
• Scissors
• Heat Tool
• Foam Adhesive
• Liquid Adhesive

DIRECTIONS:

1. Trim a piece of white cardstock to 5.5" x 8.5". Fold in half to create card base.
2. Stamp the Eucalyptus background with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink on front of card base.
3. Trim a piece of watercolor paper to 3.5" x 4.75. Stamp the protea flower image in the center using black pigment ink. Sprinkle on clear embossing powder and heat emboss with heat tool.
4. Color image using Taffy, Fruit Punch and Creamsicle Reactive Inks as well as Moss Liquid watercolor. To use the Reactive Inks as watercolors, just apply some ink to a non-porous surface, spritz with water and pick up color with paintbrush.
5. Paint the background of stamped panel using Taffy Reactive Ink as a watercolor paint.
6. Adhere panel to card base with foam adhesive.
7. Stamp "Happy Mother's Day" message on strip of white cardstock using black ink. Trim a banner tail on the left end. Adhere to card base with foam adhesive.
8. Embellish with a scattering of iridescent sequins.

JOANN HACKS:

• Add dimension to your flower by painting a darker color on the bottom of each petal and fading out to a lighter shade at the top.
• Use an anti-static powder tool when heat embossing to avoid embossing powder sticking in unwanted places.
