Beaded Buddah Tassel Necklace

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Round wood beads: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm
  • Wood Buddha bead
  • Metal lotus charm
  • Cream embroidery thread
  • Beading wire (or string of choice)
  • Crimp Beads
  • Toggle clasp
  • Scissors
  • Pliers
  • Ruler
  • 2 1/2" piece of cardboard

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut a 38" length of beading wire.
  2. String 32" of beads. Refer to photo for pattern.
  3. Add a crimp bead, thread through clasp and back through crimp bead. Pull tight and close crimp bead using pliers. Trim or tuck excess. Repeat with other part of clasp on opposite side.
  4. Wrap embroidery thread, front to back, around a 2 1/2" piece of cardboard, 50 times. Trim.
  5. Cut two additional 10" pieces of thread.
  6. Slide a 10" piece of thread under wrapped thread and slide up to an edge. Tie around thread tightly.
  7. Cut opposite edge of wrapped thread. Double knot top.
  8. Tie the other 10" piece of thread around the folded bunch of thread, 1/2" down from knot. Double knot & trim excess.
  9. Thread wood & Buddha bead on tassel thread tail. Refer to photo for placement.
  10. Tie Buddha tassel to center of necklace. Double knot & trim excess.
