Heart Attack Card

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Card Set
  • Patterned Paper
  • Scissors
  • Sewing Machine or Stapler
  • Minc Machine (optional)
  • Transparency Sheet
  • Free Templates and Printables

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Choose a desired card.
  2. Print out the free printable using a laser printer. Trim out one row. (must be a laser printer to enable the foil to adhere.)
  3. Heat Minc to a setting 3.
  4. Using a transfer folder, add the foil shiny side up to your printable, and the front of your chosen card, making sure you are covering all printing.
  5. Send the transfer folder through the Minc. It will grab it and pull it through.
  6. Pull Back Foil.
  7. Choose 5 designs of patterned paper from paper pad.
  8. Trim 5 hearts in descending sizes out of patterned paper. (see attached template.)
  9. Cut from template or punch 20 small hearts out of desired patterned paper for the confetti.
  10. Cut an additional 2 hearts, sizes 1 and 2 out of desired patterned paper for the envelope flap.
  11. Trim out all of the “I Love You" like confetti.
  12. Layer descending hearts onto card, lining up the centerfold, sew down the middle attaching all hearts together.
  13. Add 2 smaller hearts to the flap of the envelope by sewing.
  14. Cut a 2"x3" piece of transparency and adhere to inside of card using a piece of washi tape.
  15. Tuck all small hearts and the “I love you" pieces under the transparency flap.
  16. Carefully tuck the card into the envelope. When the recipient opens the card the confetti pieces will fall out.

JOANN Hacks:

  • If you don't have access to a sewing machine, use a stapler.
