SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

    (for each):
  • 1/2 yd cotton fabric
  • 1/2 yd Pellon 809 Decor Fusible Bond
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine with walking foot
  • 9" zipper & 7" zipper (for pocket)

DIRECTIONS:

Rectangle w/ pocket
  1. Cut four 8"x 11" rectangles out of fabric and two 8"x 11" rectangles out of interfacing. Cut one 8"x 3" rectangle out of fabric. Apply interfacing as stated by manufacturer.
  2. Sew 9" zipper to center of 11" edges of interfaced rectangles, RST. Sew 7" zipper to center of one 8" edge of pocket, RST. Fold over 1/2" edges of pocket rectangle without zipper to the wrong side. Place pocket 1" down from zippered edge of pouch and edge-stitch around three sides.
  3. Sew sides and bottoms of pouch right-sides together.
  4. Turn pouch inside-out and align corners seam-to-seam and sew 1 1/2" across to create boxed corners on all four sides. Repeat process with second set of 8"x 11" rectangles to create lining.
  5. Hand-stitch lining to the inside of pouch.

Trianglez
  1. Cut six 6"x 10" rectangles out of fabric and three 6"x 10" rectangles out of interfacing. Cut four 4" triangles out of fabric and two 4" triangles out of interfacing. Apply interfacing as stated by manufacturer.
  2. Add zipper to center of 10" sides of rectangles, right-sides together. Sew third 10" rectangle to rectangles attached to zipper long, RST, stopping 1/2" from edge (to create a triangle).
  3. Sew triangles to each open end of tube and turn piece right-side out. Repeat process with lining and hand sew lining to inside of pouch.
