Stuffed Fleece Dolphin

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/2 yd solid fleece
  • 1/4 yd contrast solid fleece (9"x 14" remnant)
  • 1 lb Fiber Fill (approximately)
  • 2 3/4" black round buttons or safety eyes
  • Matching thread
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. To print the patterns, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above). Enlarge patterns.
  2. Cut out front and back of dolphin from fleece.
  3. Cut out two side fins from fleece and 2 from contrast.
  4. Cut out two top fins from fleece.
  5. Cut out two underbelly pieces from contrast fleece.
  6. Lay underbelly pieces on RS of dolphin front and back.
  7. Edge stitch along top edge of underbelly.
  8. Trim fleece from underneath belly piece.
  9. With WST, edge stitch around outside of side and top fins.
  10. Lightly stuff fins.
  11. Stitch side fins to dolphin along stitching line indicated on pattern.
  12. Baste top fin to dolphin as indicated on pattern.
  13. With WST, edge stitch around outside of dolphin, leaving an opening in the back for stuffing.
  14. Stuff to desired firmness.
  15. Stitch opening closed.
  16. Sew eyes in place as shown.
