  2. Cut the white 36" square piece of felt into a circle.
  3. Find the middle of the circle, and cut out a 4" circle.
  4. Cut a straight line from the outer circle to the inner circle.
  5. With the pattern templates, cut several large & small tree shapes from the various colors of felt.
  6. Evenly space the tree shapes around the edge of the white felt tree skirt, alternating large and small.
  7. Hot glue the trees in place.
  8. Hot glue the pom poms to the tops of the trees.
  9. With the Lichen yarn and a yarn needle, create a blanket stitch around the entire edge of the tree skirt.
  10. Cut several tassels from the various yarns.
  11. Tie a tassel under each tree, along the edge of the tree skirt.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:

  • To create a tassel, use a scrap piece of cardboard 6" wide. For thinner yarns, wrap the cardboard 20 times. For thicker yarns, wrap the cardboard 12 times. Slide the wrapped yarn off the cardboard and tie an extra piece of yarn through one looped end. Cut the loops on the opposite end. Tie another piece of yarn around all of the yarns, near the knotted end. Trim the tassel to an even length.
