I love my Janome!

Great simple machine for basic sewing tasks and beginners.
I have always been pretty good at all types of crafts... except sewing. Even just trying to sew a simple straight line would result in crooked lines and tangled thread and a lot of frustration. But I had always been sewing on older, hand-me-down machines that weren't particularly high-quality when they were new. I wasn't sure if it was the machines, or if I was just really bad at it. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a fancy new machine if it turned out to be the latter. I found this Janome, which was inexpensive and seemed to have great reviews. It has turned out to be exactly what I needed. I'm not sure why - the design of it is not substantially different from the machines I've owned before. But the feed and tension seem to work much better. (In hindsight, I might have been able to get the same result if I had just had the old machine serviced, but that would have cost almost as much as I paid for the Janome.). I'm now actually enjoying using it so much that I'm doing sewing projects for fun, rather than just having it on hand to repair rips and tears. I've successfully mended clothes and made pillow covers, chair covers, holiday stockings, and have started to piece quilts.
This is a pretty basic little machine, but it does most of what you need for ordinary sewing. I'm starting to quilt, and it's been quick and easy for piecing, but it doesn't have the right foot attachments to make it good for doing the actual quilting on big pieces with multiple layers. I need to look into whether I can buy those attachments separately. But even so, if I get really into quilting or slipcovering as a hobby, I will probably graduate to a machine that's a little more heavy duty. But even if I eventually get a higher end machine, I could see myself keeping this one for the more basic tasks because of how light, portable, and easy it is to use.
The one feature I do wish it had is a built-in needle threader. It's such a simple part, and it would make it so much easier on my aging eyes.

i Love this sewing machine! I actually bought a second one for my niece. Its a simple machine for long time sewers or beginners. And Of course I love the unique color.
If Janome was to revise the machine, I think when your winding the bobbin, the needle should Not be moving. And also the bottom compartment needs a little door, so when you change the bobbin the supplies inside the bottom compartment don't fall out.

I am sewing EMT patches on my backpack, and reflector patches on my mountain bike snow-pants.
My daughter sews parachutes in the Air Force and she said, "I will sew your patches Dad." But I want to do this myself, and I love YouTube and DIY coolness.

Sew right out of the box
I an intermediate beginner sewist who is getting back into garment sew after a long time away and I. Learning the fabulous are of b quilting. My Artic Chrystal Janome machine is just the right fit. Not difficult to thread the top or bobbin and the measurement markings on the needle guide helps me to sew strait seams. The stitch dial are easy to use to get the exact stitch I'm looking to use. I opened the box, red the manual and looked at the Janome short You Tube New Home get started sew videos. And I'm off and sewing g all the things. I have have owned 3 brothers and a Kenmore sewing machine in the passed . Now I own a Darby travel machine and this New Home machine I'm a Janome fan for life fan for life. I hope Janome make servers because that is my machine purchase.

Will Not Disappoint
Love this machine! It is great for hemming, altering clothes and simple sewing. The color reminds me of my favorite ice cream, mint chocolate chip!
Fingers crossed it will last longer then my Singer! I think this is the better choice for a new seamstress:)

Janome Sewing machine-Arctic Crystal
It is very light in weight so easy to carry around. Bought for my daughter who hadn’t sewn in 10 yrs. I read reviews before I purchased. She said it was easy to sew and sewed a cuddle sack for her Guinea pig without any help. I would recommend this to a friend.

Good beginner machine
Seems good so far. I got this to practice with since I’m a beginner sewer. I’m trying to figure out the tension issues because I keep breaking thread after my latest adjustment. Some YouTube videos have really been helpful as I’m a visual learner. Machine is simple and not over complex for beginners.
