SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • 1yd – fleece
  • 1 large package of polyester stuffing
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine

DIRECTIONS:
  1. (use 1/2" seams)
  2. Cut three 8" x Width of fabric.
  3. Sew the three strips together at their short ends to make one long strip.
  4. Fold strip in half lengthwise right sides together and sew long side and one short end to form tube. Turn right side out.
  5. Fill with polyester stuffing. Stitch opening closed. Do not over stuff. Put enough stuffing in to form the tube, too much will be hard to work with. Too much stuffing will make it impossible to twist and turn.
  6. Download the pattern, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above).
  7. Follow the pattern for the knot. The first three illustrations form the base for the knot and then follow along the same path for the second round.
  8. When the end of the second round is reached, you may see that you do not have the length to finish. This is where it is necessary to play with the tube to pull it tight and work through and leave no open spaces. Remember: Step 4 – do not over-stuff.
  9. To complete the pillow, slip stitch the ends to back of pillow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute but hard to stuff! It took two people working together to fill these- I would highly recommend trying out bean bag filler as an easier stuffing!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from FUN PROJECT Would have liked a video on how to tie. It was hard to figure out. Also the stuff as you go idea is really a good one. If you try to stuff the entire tube it is very difficult. I had contemplated using a bead fill similar to a bean bag pillow, took me hours to make. It is cute, but sadly the only one I will make.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple way to Turn and Stuff Awesome and easy pillow! If you knot one end you can then use it turn it inside out. Do a little at a time and stuff it as you go!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cool pillow I always like to try new things so when I saw this project I thought I'd give it a go. Fun to make but stuffing it was definitely the most time consuming part. I just kept pushing a couple handfuls of polyfil in the open end and then pushed it down to the end with a wooden spoon while watching a good movie. The directions repeated not to overstuff so I was hesitant about using to much in the beginning so I did have a small bit of polyfil (large bag) leftover. I could have easily used all of it without any problems. It was easy to weave it together and I've received lots of compliments on my finished project.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun to make! This was a fun, easy project. I figured out a way to make stuffing the tube relatively easy. I left both ends open so that I could stuff half at a time. I inserted a cardboard tube into the fabric tube and scrunched the fabric over the tube so that I could reach about the middle. Then I inserted the fiberfill into the cardboard tube and used a vacuum hose to push it down into the fabric, you gently release the fabric from the cardboard as you insert the stuffing. Repeat with other side. The ends meet in the back of the pillow, so you can sew them together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great weekend project. I have basic sewing skills, but this was easy to make. I had no problems downloading the file. I did make 2 of them from the one yard of fabric. The first one I made came out a bit short, so I had to knot it up different. The second one came out like in the photos. The most tedious part was stuffing the tube. I am happy with how both came out and I got the fleece on sale (at Joann's, of course) day I bought it. :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Strange too much like a multicolored donut vs. pillow, so don't fall asleep and dream you are hungry, or you'll wake up and find half the pillow missing. ;-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Knotted fleece pillow I saw this in a flyer and am so anxious to make it in school colors--alternate the tube colors and it will be perfect with a matching fleece throw. I am also going to use bias tubes in a decorator fabric to make accent pillows for my couch. What a great accent piece!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy project for dorm room decoration Easy instructions and very clear. Not sure why other person complained about not having knotting instructions as they are there and very easy to understand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cannot download the Project PDF Pattern looks super cute but I need the download to figure out how to do the knot. The directions specifically say to download project pdf. I have found this to be the case with many of the inspirational ideas with Joann. I would still recommend though but would like to be able to see the knot pdf otherwise this pattern is useless.
