Awful
I bought this because i do a lot of hand sewing through matboard. The leather is not thick enough and the back of the needle went through the leather straight into my finger. Talk about pain!

Works, for long fingers
Meant for longer fingers than mine! I have to put it on my middle finger sideways, or I cannot bend my fingers to hold the needle.

Uncomfortable
This thing is so uncomfortable that I cannot keep it on my finger long enough to break it in. It is not tight, I have small fingers. It didn't cause my finger to sweat, a plus. But it is just so stiff that I can barely move my finger. The leather is like shoe leather! Awful. I only gave it two stars because it is well constructed and could be useful as protection for hand sewing really heavy fabric or leather crafts.

I LOVE this thimble
I have used this thimble for at least five years now - I've gone through about 3 of them. I don't quilt, but I DO embroidery and hand-sewing (clothing repairs, etc). I won't sew/embroider without one of these on my middle finger. When the top front gets worn, I cut off the "overhanging" piece on the backside of the thimble (it faces up, on the top of your hand) and glue the piece to the worn out area that gets all of the "needle action." Then I sew around the edge, just to be safe. This greatly extends the life of the thimble. I have very large hands and don't find them to be too tight. IF it IS too tight on your finger, remember that this is leather and elastic - it will stretch and conform to your finger. I highly recommend this product.

One size does not fit all
I bought this thimble in the store and I thought this would be great for hand quilting, but it's not. I pulled it out of the package and tried it on my finger, the tip of my finger starts to loose circulation after about 2 minutes. Measuring around the tip of my finger with a measuring tape it 2 1/8 inch.
