Inconsistent
The color of this yarn is gorgeous and it's super soft ...my only complaint is that the yarn is not consistent....parts of it are very and thin and then other parts of it are thick

Lovey soft yarn in a nice variety of colours
This is the first time I’ve used this yarn and overall I was very happy with it and plan to use it again. It’s lovely and soft and drapes very nicely, which is what I want when making a poncho.
Pros:
* A good number of color choices;
* Feels nice and soft;
* Machine wash and dry; and
* Reasonably priced.
Cons:
* Center pull is impossible;
* Yarn is smelly (but one wash gets rid of that);
* Half of the skeins had yarn stuck to the labels and needed to be gently cut away; and
* Every skein had at least one knotted join, which is surprising as the skeins are small.

So soft!
I bought a couple skeins of this yarn a few days ago and am making a cardigan with it. It is so soft and I have not run into any tangled or knots. I think it is honestly my favorite so far and I've been crocheting since I was ten.

Delightfully soft but terrible to use initially
I honestly love this yarn, it is so soft and squishy and very lovely to work with. My only complaint is that it is always such a pain to use because of however they wrap it up in the skein. There is a lot of yarn barf which I actually don’t mind, but it is also usually very tangled inside of the skein which means I spend more time untangling this yarn than I do actually using it.
If you can successfully wind this into a cake or ball before using, you’ll have a lot easier if a time (but even this can be difficult sometimes. Some skeins are worse than others).

Grand Canyon
I couldn’t give it 5 stars because it will split on you if not very careful with it but 5 on softness and it came with a very bad odor I took out of plastic to let other skeins air out while I’m crocheting

Nice yarn but not color I was expecting
This is nice yarn but I was expecting "white sands" to be a green color. In fact it is gray.
Perhaps there could be a short description of the color on the web page to avoid this confusion in the future

Gorgeous colors, a joy to work with
I’m a huge fan of Lion Brand Yarns and Heartland is one of my favorites to work with. The color palette is beautiful, with heathering in each color to lend an air of sophistication. Just completed a rainbow bobble afghan for a dear friend out of state and he was thrilled with every aspect of it - the softness, the steeliness of the colors (his word) and the overall beauty of the piece.

Great Yarn for Soft Projects
Found this yarn on sale in the color "Pinnacles." Used a pattern from the Lion Brand website. Pattern used single, half double and double crochet stitches in combination that has texture and creates a scalloped edge. Nice and easy to use. No problems. Will buy more for projects.

Love this yarn!!
Started buying this yarn to knit cancer hats and beanies for the Knots of Love charity, since it was on their approved yarn list. I absolutely love knitting with it; it doesn't split and is super soft. I haven't had the best experience with machine washing though when I washed the hats in my first shipment, so hopefully that is better next time. I wish this yarn were a bit cheaper, but it's great if you can catch it on sale. It also comes in such beautiful colors, but some of the pictures don't always look so appealing.

Beautiful and soft
The swatches on this site really don't do this yarn justice. It's really beautiful, I love the jewel tones. I need to buy some of the dark purple because I saw it in store and it is GORGEOUS. I've made several scarves from this yarn and am currently working on a sweater. It's a really soft and gorgeous yarn. It's a good 4 weight, for crochet I prefer to use a 5 mm hook over the recommended 6 mm.

Yarn has changed
Over the past six months I’ve that what was once a beautiful yarn has been changed and is now inferior. I’ve used Grand Canyon often over the years and now the color is lighter and the yarn splits causing the finished project to look less professional. It used to be made in the U.S. but now it’s made in Turkey maybe this is the reason. I’m very disappointed. I hope Lion Brand brings back the original Heartland.

Love this yarn!
It's soft, knits up beautifully.
Badlands is a beautiful color I have purchased multiple times.
Quick beginner scarf pattern:
Cast on 17 stitches onto 5mm knitting needles and use the seed stitch (just alternate knits and purls- you should always start and end with a knit for each row). If you use the entire skein, you'll be able to wrap it around twice! Makes a lovely scarf that is extremely comfortable to wear.

Love the yarn but bad color depiction
I bought Congaree recently and I was expecting a bright turquoise color as the photo suggests but it's more of a dull gray blue. I can't use this color yarn at all.

Nice Yarn
Very nice yarn. I used it to crochet a shawl and it crochet up nicely. Very soft and doesn’t seem like acrylic. I was worried that it wouldn’t be very warm but, in fact, it is!
