Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook (3 skipped ch count as dc), *sk next 2 ch, 3 dc in next ch; rep from * to last 3 ch, sk next 2 ch, 2 dc in last ch - you will have ten 3-dc groups and a 2-dc group at beg and end of this row.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, 3 dc in sp between first 2-dc group and next 3-dc group, 3 dc in each sp between 3-dc groups across, 3-dc in sp between last 3-dc group and last 2-dc group, dc in top of beg ch-3 - Eleven 3-dc groups and a dc at beg and end of row.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, dc in first st, sk sp between first dc and next 3-dc group, 3 dc in each sp between 3-dc groups across, sk sp between last 3-dc group and beg ch-3, 2 dc in top of beg ch-3 - Ten 3-dc groups and a 2-dc group at beg and end of row.
Rep Rows 2 and 3 until piece measures about 26 in. (66 cm) from beg or almost all yarn has been used, ending with a Row 2 as the last row you work.
Fasten off.
FINISHING:
Sew short ends of piece together to make the Cowl.
Weave in ends.
