At first I was ready to return it because I could not get it to increase it's brightness (four levels, according to info sheet) no matter how hard or how many times I pushed the button. Accidentally, I realized you only had to swipe the switch and it changed instantly. I have used this to light seam removal of black thread on black fabric and it made it so easy to see. I have also used it to weed my HTV projects and again it has facilitated those projects enormously. You can twist and swivel the light to direct it where you need it and the small "bucket" keeps scissors and pens/pencils and other tools close at hand and not lost in my chaos!!

My sewing room seems dark no matter what I do, but this light not only brightened things up, but allows me to put the light exactly where I need it. Behind the sewing machine? No Problem! At my fabric cutting station? No Problem! I can even point it toward my ironing station and guess what....no problem! I am thinking about purchasing some for Christmas gifts later this year! When I opened the box, the top of the on/off button had popped off. I simply put it back (it sorta snaps there) and I have had no problems with it.

You touch the power button and it changes brightness with each touch, cycling through the different brightness levels. Inside the "head" there are multiple small LEDs; I was expecting an actual LED bulb like in other lamps. I have other LED lamps so using these together allows it to perform acceptably, but if I were to do it over again I would have put the money towards one that is brighter.
