Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad purchase I purchased this to replace an old model. This light is bright. The problem is that the base is too light weight for the curvature of the arm. The arm and head of the lamp do not adjust well. The instructions show the lamp has a very limited range of movement. This is not shown in the online description. If you bump the arm or the head of the lamp can go wobbling and tip over. This is all because the base is too lightweight. I need to be able to adjust the head of the lamp to my lap sewing often, this is not easily done and the light is often in my eyes. My old model was much better for function but the light wasn't as strong. I purchased this online and at a greatly marked down price so it wasn't worth the cost to return it. If I had been able to see this lamp in store I would not have purchased it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's ok, but... I'm returning this lamp. I bought it to replace a halogene task lamp. First off, there is nothing faulty about it, it's just that the light is too dim to use at the pictured hight. 18W might be ok close up but the head is way to big when I bend it down close enough to get good lighting for hand work. My go-to test is always hand sewing black fabric with black thread and this lamp did not pass.

I have a hard time crocheting with dark yarn, and this lamp provides a great amount of light. I absolutely recommend getting this lamp. My mom loves hers too. She reads a lot and it is perfect for her with her having vision problems. Highly recommend!!!!
