Why fake sale prices?
I guess when you have zero reliability in your products you can just claim the real price is something outrageous to make the real price more palatable.

Great Until It Wasn't
I was so excited when I was finally able to buy this item. I needed the magnifier as well as the light so I was happy to find this particular lamp. That was in the fall of '18. Over the next 5 years, I enjoyed the lamp when I used it, but the uses were short lived. Maybe off and on for 3 months, then off for quite a while. In 2020, I used it probably 4 months out the year. About the same amount in '21. From the fall of '21 until March of '23, I probably used it the most I ever had. I'd say 4 months in '21 and another 7 months in 2022. After Christmas, I had to pack to move 'cross country and I wasn't using it at all. After I arrived here in March, it wasn't long before it was out again and I was using it regularly from April until late summer. Out of 75 months, then, I used the lamp about 24 of those months. One morning in August, I turned it on like normal. No light. After switching it off and on a few times. I checked both the plug and the connection between the cord and the lamp. Nothing was wrong. That's when I went to the Ottlite website. There, I read about the 40,000 hours on the bulb. If I'd worked 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for those 24 months, which of course, I did not, I would have worked just less than 4,000 hours. (3840 hours to be exact,) That's only a tenth of the hours on those bulbs, bulbs that can't be changed, I might add. And here I am with a useless piece of crap. I find it hard to throw it out, I guess because I liked it so much.

Disappointed!
This is easily my third Ott light and is advertised as lasting 40,000 hours. The previous one (at least 7 years old) at least allowed me to change the light bulb, but this one - lasting about 6 months - flickers constantly and reduced its light output to virtually nothing. It seems impossible to access the old light bulb, which ultimately renders the lamp useless because the magnifier alone does me no good. I will have to look at other brands in the future.

Don't know what I would do without this light
This light has saved my eyesight! Even with glasses, I still need it to do my diamond painting and would be miserable without it. One of the best purchases I ever made.

Very disappointed!
I own many versions of Ottlite. Eight, in fact. I’ve had some for years. I’ve had this desk lamp for less than a year. The bulb went out so now I have very large paperweight with an attached magnifying lens. Not happy at all. Definitely not worth what I paid. Won’t be recommending to others.

GREAT LAMP!
This lamp is bright and the magnifying glass is perfect (no distortion)! I love that it's portable and I can use it sitting at the kitchen table or in the living room when doing needlework. I will take it when I travel so I can continue to stitch while staying with family.
