  • 2 3" x 15" x 17" cushions

  • Pillow 4:
  • 22"x 22" pillow form
  • Fabric, 56"x 2/3yd, print, front & back 56"x 2/3yd, solid, flanges

DIRECTIONS:

  • Floor Mat: 1/2" SA
  • Mark cushion to 2 @ 3' long. Use an electric knife to cut cushion on mark. Keep knife vertical while cutting. Set aside.
  • Cut fabric: 5 @ 2 1/4"x 55", piping, cut one length in half lengthwise
  • 1 @ 25"x 37", top
  • 2 @ 21"x 25", bottom
  • 2 @ 5"x 37", long sides
  • 2 @ 5"x 25", short sides

  • Bottom panels into one piece. Double fold one 1/2" hem on one 25" edge of both panels. Lay panels on cutting board, overlap hemmed edges to create a 25"x 37" panel. Pin the overlap on the raw edges of the fabric. Sew the overlap together 1/4" from the edges. Set aside.
  • Place sides RST on short ends, alternate lengths. Make sure that sides are not twisted. Sew 1/2" SA start and stop 1/2" from each corner. This will create a loop. Press seams open. Topstitch close to the seams. Set aside.
  • Place ends of 2, 55" piping fabric RST at opposite directions overlapping the end 2" of fabric. Sew at a diagonal. Cut 1/4" from stitching. Press seam open. This will make one length of fabric. Add one 27 1/2" length the same way. Final length 137 1/2" Cut to 128" long. Repeat.
  • Sew piping. Fold fabric WST over cording matching long raw edges. Use a zipper foot to sew close to the cording. Repeat.
  • Fold top panel to find the center of one long side. Mark with a pin. Repeat for the bottom panel Start the piping at the mark. Leave a 2" tail of piping extending beyond the edge of the panel. Match the raw edges of the piping with the edges of the panel. Clip into the piping fabric to take the turns at the corners. Repeat for the bottom panel.
  • Lay the top RSU on a flat surface. Lay sides loop on top RST matching side lengths with sides of top. Pin folded ends of sides 1/2" in from corners of top panel. Settle side edges to match with top edges. Repeat for all sides. Sew 1/2" SA. Clip corners to reduce bulk. Finish edge with zig zag to reduce fray. Flip and repeat for bottom.
  • Turn RSO. Press out corners with dowel or chopstick. Fill with cushions. Settle one cushion at a time with seams facing sides.
  • Pin envelope bottom closed. Mark 8 points for tufts on the bottom and the top. Space 3 rows 6" apart on the 24" width. Rows of 3 tufts 6" from each long side and one row of 2 tufts 12" from each long side. Use doll needle with double embroidery floss to tuft. Start on bottom. Knot the floss 2 1/2" from tails. Tie off floss to fabric at mark. Press needle through cushions to corresponding mark on top. Repeat for four stitches through cushions pulling floss tight. Tie floss off to 2 1/2" tail on bottom. Trim. Remove pins in envelope bottom.

  • Floor Cushion 1:
  • Cut fabric: 1 @ 16"x 18", top
  • 2 @ 13"x 16", bottom
  • 2 @ 6 3/4"x 16", 2 @ 6 3/4" x 18", sides (add 1/4" to 6 3/4" measurement
  • for thick fabric)
  • Place sides RST on short ends, alternate lengths. Make sure that sides are not twisted. Sew 1/2" SA start and stop 1/2" from each corner. This will create a loop. Press seams open. Topstitch close to the seams.
  • Bottom panel into one piece. Double fold one 1/2" hem on one 16" edge of both panels. Lay panels on cutting board, overlap hemmed edges to create a 16"x 18" panel. Pin the overlap on the raw edges of the fabric. Sew the overlap together 1/4" from the edges.
  • Lay the top RSU on a flat surface. Lay sides loop on top RST matching side lengths with sides of top. Pin folded ends of sides 1/2" in from corners of top panel. Settle side edges to match with top edges. Repeat for all sides. Sew 1/2" SA. Clip corners to reduce bulk. Finish edge with zig zag to reduce fray. Flip and repeat for bottom.
  • Turn RSO. Press out corners with dowel or chopstick. Fill with cushions. Settle one cushion at a time with seams facing sides.

  • Floor Cushion 2:
  • Cut fabric: 1 @ 23"x 23", top
  • 2 @ 15"x 23", bottom
  • 4 @ 3 3/4"x 23", sides
  • 4 @ 2 1/4"x 56", piping
  • Place ends of 2, 56" piping fabric RST at opposite directions overlapping the end 2 1/4" of fabric. Sew at a diagonal. Cut 1/4" from stitching. Press seam open. This will make one length of fabric. Cut to 93" long. Repeat.
  • Sew piping. Fold fabric WST over cording matching long raw edges. Use a zipper foot to sew close to the cording. Repeat.
  • Bottom panel into one piece. Double fold one 1/2" hem on one 23" edge of both panels. Lay panels on cutting board, overlap hemmed edges to create a 23"x 23" panel. Pin the overlap on the raw edges of the fabric. Sew the overlap together 1/4" from the edges. Set aside.
  • Fold top panel to find the center of one long side. Mark with a pin. Repeat for the bottom panel. Start the piping at the mark. Leave a 2" tail of piping extending beyond the edge of the panel. Match the raw edges of the piping fabric with the edges of the panel. Clip into the piping fabric to take the turns at the corners. Repeat for the bottom panel.

  • Turn RSO. Press out corners with dowel or chopstick. Fill with cushion. Settle cushion with seams facing sides.

  • Pillow 1:
  • Cut fabric: 1 @ 19"x 19", front
  • 2 @ 13"x 19", back
  • 2 @ 2 1/4"x 56", piping
  • Place ends of 2, 56" piping fabric RST at opposite directions overlapping the end 2 1/4" of fabric. Sew at a diagonal. Cut 1/4" from stitching. Press seam open. This will make one length of fabric. Cut to 76" long.
  • Sew piping. Fold fabric WST over cording matching long raw edges. Use a zipper foot to sew close to the cording.
  • Back panel into one piece. Double fold one 1/2" hem on one 19" edge of both panels. Lay panels on cutting board, overlap hemmed edges to create a 19"x 19" panel. Pin the overlap on the raw edges of the fabric. Sew the overlap together 1/4" from the edges.
  • Fold front panel to find the center of one side. Mark with a pin. Repeat for the back panel. Start the piping at the mark. Leave a 2" tail of piping extending beyond the edge of the panel. Match the raw edges of the piping with the edges of the panel. Clip into the piping fabric to take the turns at the corners.
  • Place the front panel RSU on a flat surface. Pin the back panel RSD on top matching corners. Sew on top of the cording stitching. Clip corners to reduce bulk. Zig zag stitch to finish raw edges.
  • Turn RSO. Press out corners with dowel or chopstick. Fill with pillow form.

  • Pillow 2:
  • Cut fabric: 1 @ 21"x 50"
  • Double fold one 1/2" hem on both 21" wide sides. Lay panel RSD. Overlap the hemmed ends to create a 21"x 21" square. Pin raw edges together. Sew 1/2" SA. Clip corners to reduce bulk. Zig zag stitch edges to reduce fray. Turn RSO. Press out corners with dowel or chopstick. Fill with pillow form.

  • Pillow 3:
  • Cut fabric: 1 ea. of 4 prints, 8"x 15", front
  • 2 of one print, 18"x 15", back
  • 2 @ 2 1/4"x 56", piping
  • Place ends of 2, 56" piping fabric RST at opposite directions overlapping the end 2 1/4" of fabric. Sew at a diagonal. Cut 1/4" from stitching. Press seam open. This will make one length of fabric. Cut to 76" long.
  • Sew piping. Fold fabric WST over cording matching long raw edges. Use a zipper foot to sew close to the cording. Set aside.
  • RST front panels on 15" edge. Sew 1/2" SA. Press seams open. Topstitch close to seams. This will make a 15"x 29" rectangle. Set aside.
  • Back panel into one piece. Double fold one 1/2" hem on one 15" edge of both panels. Lay panels on cutting board, overlap hemmed edges to create a 115"x 29" panel. Pin the overlap on the raw edges of the fabric. Sew the overlap together 1/4" from the edges.
  • Fold front panel to find the center of one 29" side. Mark with a pin. Repeat for the back panel. Start the piping at the mark. Leave a 2" tail of piping extending beyond the edge of the panel. Match the raw edges of the piping with the edges of the panel. Clip into the piping fabric to take the turns at the corners.
  • Place the front panel RSU on a flat surface. Pin the back panel RSD on top matching corners. Sew on top of the cording stitching. Clip corners to reduce bulk. Zig zag stitch to finish raw edges.
  • Turn RSO. Press out corners with dowel or chopstick. Fill with pillow form.

  • Pillow 4:
  • Cut fabric: Print, 1 @ 23"x 23", front
  • 2 @ 16"x 23", back
  • Solid, 8 @ 3"x 31", flanges
  • Back panel into one piece. Double fold one 1/2" hem on one edge of both panels. Lay panels on cutting board, overlap hemmed edges to create a 23"x 23" panel. Pin the overlap on the raw edges of the fabric. Sew the overlap together 1/4" from the edges.
  • Fold front panel to find the center of each side. Mark with a pin. Repeat for the back panel. Fold each flange strip to find the and mark the center of one long side. RST one flange with one side of front matching centers. Repeat for opposite side. Sew 1/2" from edges starting and stopping 1/2" from corners. Repeat for other two sides. Repeat with other four flanges onto back. Press seams toward flanges.
  • Fold front at a diagonal, from corner to corner. Layer flange ends matching raw edges. Draw a line on the flanges that is a continuation of the diagonal fold of the front. Sew on this line. Open the front and repeat for the other two corners. Trim off excess flange material past the seam. Open the front. The corners should lay flat. Press the seams open. Repeat for the corners of the back.
  • Place the front RSU. Lay the back RSD on top matching corners. Sew 1/2" SA. Trim corners to reduce bulk.
  • Turn RSO. Press. Stitch on front print panel as close as possible to the flange seam. Fill with pillow form.

JOANN HACKS:

  • When stitching sides to top and bottom of cushions place stitching on top of piping stitching.
