Knitting all the Time from
Not what it used to be
This yarn used to be a true worsted weight yarn. It was my go to yarn for hats. I had quite a stash. Recently, I went to purchase this yarn. I didn't buy it because I could tell just by looking at it that is was much thinner than in the past. I would say it is now a DK weight. I don't know when this yarn was changed since I hadn't bought it for a few years, but I will never buy it again do to its altered weight. So disappointing!

Favorite Wool yarn so far.
I have used Patons classic wool for a few years and it is one of my favorite yarns for hats mittens and scarves. When I started using it in the beginning the yardage was 123. Then it went to 210 yards and now it is under 200 yards. I realize that everything goes up in price, however, I hate that you have to buy another skein sometimes to finish a project. So not only is the skein price more, you are forced to buy an extra skein or too and depending on the project that can up the price even more. Please Patons stop it with the shrinkflation and I will be a loyal customer. While I love this yarn, I am always on the look out now for a qualitly wool yarn replacement that is a more economical price.

This is a beautiful knitting colour!
I bought this as a contrast colour for the Check Mate Fair Isle Hat. Now that I've knitted the hat I wish I'd bought another 2 skeins as I'm now knitting reversible scarf and it need 3 balls at least. It's so lustrous and when lightly blocked it is so soft and warm.

Great yarn, 100% wool, perfect for knitting
I’ve knit 3 scarves with this wool. It’s fulls beautifully in the final wet-finish process, expands and softens to its size 4 weight. It can also be used as warp and weft in loom weaving, too.

Reduced Yardage
I have bought this yarn for years. It is great for felting projects. Unfortunately, their 3.5 ounce skein used to be 210 yards, but now it is only 194 yards. So now I have to order more yarn to complete my project. I still recommend the yarn but am disappointed and feel a bit cheated. Less yarn, higher price - inflation hits here too.

Light weight yarn
I bought this yarn to make a scarf for my Father for Christmas. I will admit it took me several tries to get started as it is thinner than acrylic yarn of the same weight. I advise using a bulkier stitch to get a nice weight. In my scarf I used the Bean stitch.

Yarn Barf
I just bought two skeins of this in black. I like center pull skeins UNLESS it's impossible to get the center pull beginning strand out of the center of the skein. I loathe hate detest despise yarn Barf. The picture says a lot, yes, but when I hold it in my hand, it feels like it barfed out half of the skein. It knits up well, but the mess takes away SO much time and enjoyment. Why can't we stop yarn barf?

This is such a reliable wool yarn
Every color is the same, fairly soft, works to the same gauge every time. It shows excellent stitch definition for cables and stitch patterns. I don't it holds it's shape even when knit seamlessly from the top down. I love it for sweaters and blankets. I think you will too.

Review JUST for Classic Wool Brown Mustard
This yarn is much lighter than pictured, actually not a lot darker than honey. I purchased 6 colors from this line for a project (I really just wanted acrylic) but now I need to scrap the project and return all of the yarn just because of this ONE picture. Ugh.

Even with the same dye lot and color #s, the new skein didn't quite match what i had previously. Also, the weight of the yarn seemed lighter even though listed as worsted weight. I used it anyway so that I could complete the sweater.
