Rated 4 out of 5 by from Knitting with All-in-one This yarn also works when knitting. I used 5mm Addi 'novel' 80 cm circular needles. Save white for joining with other triangles

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inconsistent coloring I ordered 2 skeins of the is yarn; they were shipped and delivered a couple weeks apart so apparently were from two different dye lots but you couldn’t see that until after working on a project. The 1st skein was mostly creams and light grays and the 2nd skein was mostly black and dark grays. I am not happy with how my project came out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most fun project I loved making this blanket. Every square turned out perfectly. What a great idea. I wish you had more colors options to choose. Most were sold out. Will definitely make another one soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New, all in one Granny squares by red heart i’ve had a lot of fun with the all-in-one Granny. I’ve bought almost every color but a lot of them are out of stack. I was able to work it up easily. I found it pretty easy to use the miracle circle. I made a sweater I had so much fun. I just wish you guys kept everything in stock soon as I hear about it it’s out of stock But I did get a few of the

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Give it a chance. I’m addicted to this yarn. Never was a fan of granny squares but this yarn takes all the work of choosing colors for you. It took a few tries to adjust my tension to get the colors to flow but it looks great. Totally a Granny Square fan now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Granny Squares without weaving in the ends <3 I love this color-changing yarn! It will be hard to go back to my old WIP with its 6 different colors--I'm being completely spoiled by not having to tie strong knots and weave in the ends. I am using the Aran-Lily Pad color and love each color in the skein.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over priced Over priced and hard to match ends to next round. Not worth the hassle

Rated 4 out of 5 by from granny square yarn I like the yarn, it's easy to work with, it had a nice texture but I only have on problem with it. There's little green spots (I guess it's dye or smth) that frequently appear on the yarn and some of the spots are kinda big so you can see it when you make the granny square. If they just changed that, it would be perfect. (Btw I recommend using a 6mm hook.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Way too inconsistent The colors are very pretty and it is satisfying when you do get them to align, but it takes a lot of work. Their pattern is confusing and also doesn’t work with getting the colors to end at the right spot on all the rounds, so I switched to doing my style of granny square I normally do and had to further modify that by the round in order to get any of the colors to align. I already sized down to a 5.0 mm from a 5.5 mm and that works (with tight tension) for the first two rounds but then past that, I have to use such a tight tension that my hand and shoulder started hurting and I had to frog multiple times to get it to work. I’m going to size down to a 4.5 mm for the later rounds to see if that helps as I couldn’t possibly get my last round any tighter and the yarn still changed too quickly, but it will annoy me how the tension varies and having to make all these adjustments takes so much time that you probably could have weaved in all the ends on your squares at that point…I understand it is more portable, having 1 skein instead of 5, but yet again my frustration with this yarn outweighs my disdain of weaving in ends. Also, the amounts of colors you get for each square is inconsistent and so each square will require unique adjustments so I’m not sure how putting squares together will work even after blocking. Also, its impossible to know how long of a tail to leave at the beginning and end of each square. There are also splotches of purple on other color sections including the white (I bought White Amythest) which might annoy some people. Overall, I’m going to try and use up this yarn but the amount of frustration and arm pain this caused me after completing not even 2 squares might result in the yarn getting shelved indefinitely or donated. It’s a shame because the concept is fun and and colors are amazing…I would genuinely love to know how people are getting this to work…maybe some skeins are perfect and others are messed up? But, every video I have seen online showcases the same problems I am having. I hope they’re able to get the manufacturing more consistent and come out with a new and improved version of this yarn eventually. I don’t think I will purchase any more of this yarn and I think I will stick to weaving in my ends…

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT WORTH THE EXTRA $$$ Nice try. The concept is awesome! But, different people have different tension and this rarely worked out for me on the first time for each square. AND, I had to use different tensions within each square to make the colors work out. It took me an HOUR to make the first square and I’m no novice. I kept having to rip it out and try again. I could’ve easily completed 5 squares in an hour and weaved in the ends. I’m going to use the tarn on something, but it’s a big fail for me. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because it’s Red Heart and RH almost always works up nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dreamy yarn! I love this yarn! I have been avoiding granny squares for years mostly because I just don't have the patience to weave in ends. Even though it takes a few squares to get the tension you need, it is so worth the fiddling at the beginning. I have really been enjoying this yarn and now have 4 different colors. The soft white green scream has an almost Frida Kahlo vibe...so nice for summer. And finally I can take advantage of some of this seasons dynamic and modern designs for granny square projects. Thank you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the Concept I love Red Heart Yarn and granny squares so this is up my alley. It is a challenge but I dont mind. The only thing that bothers me is some bleeding of colors and its a very rough yarn but I enjoy doing it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Granny squares with no ends to weave in 😱 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yarnspirations gave me 3 skeins of Black-Moody Cherry for free. Pros: The granny squares can really be made with no ends to weave in. I was able to make 15 squares from each skein instead of 14. The colors are really pretty and are true to the picture on the website. Cons: I had to go up to a 6.5 mm crochet hook to meet gauge so the squares are a bit loose. I am allergic to acrylic yarn and got a rash on my forearms. I have known I was a bit allergic to yarns like Red Heart Supersaver and Caron Simply Soft for a while. Once the garment is washed I am no longer allergic to it. I can work with the yarn if I wear a long sleeve shirt.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as time saving as advertised I’ve been crocheting for more than 40 years. My gauge is consistent. I had crochet hooks from H through K that I used for a a square. No color accurate every time. When you used a new skein everything changed. I finished my afghan. I’ll make the next one the traditional way.

I need more to finish a blanket that I am making for my son. I really love it. Everyone, please know that it does take some practice, but it works and I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tricky to tension & quick fun! Love the yarn through all the trickiness it holds! Had to size up my hook & play with tension, however, is working out so nicely & quick that I'm nearly done with the Red Heart Coatigan pattern I've been dreaming on doing! Definitely a finicky yarn to get used to, however so quick to put together a project!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game Changer for squares! Love this yarn! Had to play with hook size in the beginning, but got it and fell in love!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save Your Money I tried over and over and over the weekend I bought this yarn. The idea is there BUT I do not have the deserve to change hooks, go back and forth with tension. Maybe someone else can use it but not me. I tried 4 different hooks, ripping it out and changing my tension - nothing worked right. So I just started cutting between the colors to finish the square. Please don't reply with follow those steps on your website - I measured with a ruler that I had a 4 inch tail to begin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Yarn Fun to Work with This yarn is awesome. It is the same great quality as all Red Heart yarns. Super soft, great weight and easy to work with. I love that you don’t have to stop and change colors and no ends to weave in! It takes a little bit of time to get used to the tension you need to use to get to the place where the colors change, but once you get into your rhythm it gets really easy. The time you take to adjust your tension more than makes up for the time it takes to weave in all those ends. It is a bit more expensive than most other yarns, but I understand that the process to dry this yarn in this way is probably more expensive. It is fun to work with and the colors make beautiful granny squares and I will keep buying it. I have all the colors and can’t wait to use them on various projects.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from great idea great concept. i tried 3 hooks in descending sizes and was unable to get the colors in the correct places. will revisit, but so far, it's a no for me. i was in a focus group for this product and this was a concern. but i truly love the innovations that yall are putting out there! not a granny fan anyway as i dont like connecting them all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Worth the Higher Price PROS: Pretty color variations; good quality yarn; CONS: There are a lot more cons for sure. I’ve tried 2 different skeins and I’m having the same issue with both: tension. It’s very inconsistent. The first row needed very tight tension to end in the proper place for the next square. The next row was a nice medium tension; the next needed a tighter tension again and the final a bit more loose at the end. It resulted in a LOT of ripping and redoing. In fact, the first square I did took me an hour to complete. An. Hour. A simple granny square is five minutes. Also, you cannot control the size of the square…it’s a one size fits all. When I make granny blankets or sweaters, or bags, etc., I like a more condensed square. The idea gets 5-stars, but the execution only 1. It with be quicker to just weave in ends. I’ll use the yarn if course, but I’m just not sure for what. They also don’t tell you that you need to start on the color in the picture on the label yo make it work, and you must use their chart to get the proper configuration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Granny Square Bought on Elon to try this yarn out. Had to go up a needle size ,I’m using a size H. Live the yarn, however very difficult trying to buy more of same color…,every single place is out of stock. It’s frustrating but I guess I’ll work on something else while I wait.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes beautiful granny squares I love the look of granny square blankets but have never made one because I was stressed about all the color changes. With this yarn there’s no color changing and no agonizing about color choices. It took a bit of time to figure out my gauge but soon I was flying through them. Hint: if you have extra yarn at the end of the round you can slip stitch along to the next double crochet cluster to eat up the yarn. I didn’t like the instructions for the square on the label. I started with a tail of about 9”. I didn’t chain between clusters and I chained 2 for each corner. I used a 6mm hook for the first 4 colors and 5.5mm for the last round.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun to work with I absolutely love the colour combination with the greens, blues and white! The only thing is that the way I crochet a granny square didn't match up with the colour changing so it took some time to get used it! Overall, I would definitely recommend this yarn!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use The idea of having fewer ends to weave in was the reason I bought this yarn. It did not disappoint! It made my project so much quicker and easier to complete. The yarn is soft and the colors are pretty. Definitely going to buy more to make another sweater and an afghan.
