    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent yarn. “Scratchy” only if from India. This yarn is only “scratchy” if it’s from India. They manufacture the yarn from 3 location. Turkey and Canada are very soft, but beware of the colors from India as they are not as soft. This location is the reason Red Heart gets so much hate. I don’t know why they continue to use that location when yarn coming from there is the reason people complain and buy from other companies. I personally avoid those colors. However, even the yarns from India get soft after one wash. So, the issue is temporary. The yarn is considered the best because you don’t have issues with unraveling, knots, splicing, piling, trouble frogging, uneven wind, trouble with center pull, etc that you will have with brands like Lion, Caron, and the store brand. This yarn has a nice drape, 90%of the colors are quite soft, easy to work with, and no issues that the other brands are plagued with (see above). That’s why Red Heart has been the #1 brand and garnered awards for over a decade. I have tried all the other brands and they just don’t compare. Ice and Caron have shiny yarns which if the project calls for shine, then you would have to suffer those brands. The other brands just simply look a mess after a dozen or so washes. Red Heart looks like new even after years of washes.

The yarn I did use felt like it was rubbing my fingers raw. They do have great colors and a great price point though. I can't imagine using this to make something to wear or a blanket.

I love that it isn't itchy and rough. I love that it is so easy to work with. I haven't had any issues so far. I have bought 6 of each skeins. I recommend this yarn brand. I am fairly new to crocheting. This is my 5th blanket in the past 2 weeks since I started. I love going to Joann's.

Yes, it is a little scratchy, but it is great for making bags, baskets, napkin rings, and other accessories that are not wearable. It is a bit scratchy on the skin but makes a great cardigan.

It does not split and maintaining guage/tension is simple. I paired the soft white with the green scream All in One Granny Square yarn. The granny square made 15 squares so i made 15 soft white squares and this makes a great sized baby blanket. It could also be a lap blanket.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a hit or miss, but still decent. Honestly it's a hit or miss. Sometimes it's strong and hard to break other times it's easy to snap like old sewing thread. Sometimes the colors are vibrant and beautiful and other times they are dull and muddy. And unsurprisingly, sometimes it's rough and will literally rub away your skin if you work with it too long, and other times it's nice and soft. Despite all of that, it's still my go-to yarn for most projects. It's cheap and comes with a whole bunch of colors.

What a crock! I won't order again. I will do business with another supplier. I checked special to make sure this red heart spring green WAS available. There was 3 in stock at time of order how can it NOT be available? 50 minutes of wasted time and frustration.
