Very handy
This really is a great little gadget. It keeps my blades nick and bur free. It doesn’t make the blades last forever, but does lengthen it’s usefulness.

blades still dull after using; doesn't work at all
Don't waste your money on this "sharpener", which doesn't work at all. I used it on three blades that got dull after cutting one apron panel each. Each blade was still completely dull and unable to cut cotton fabric after following instructions to sharpen using this device. (And my blades were not warped, they were dull.) Money would be better spent buying four (or more) new blades.

I bought this tool a few weeks ago. I have tried it twice w/out success. Had my husband try and it did a little better. Did not achieve a sharp enough blade for clean cuts.

I bought mine a few years ago and am seriouslely loving ir. I save a bundle on refill blades by simply sharpening the ones I have.
If you remember to oil the sharpener before using ir (I was taught to use mineral oil on sharpening stones as a kid) then all you have to do is secure the blade in the holder, inserting the coarse side of the sharpener ( however many times the instructions say) then flip the sharpener and repeat on the finer grit side.
This tool is genius. I've been pondering for years on how to sharpen rotary blades.
I haven't bought blades except when I lose them.
Important point: because of the oil, cut some scrap before cutting whatever it is you're cutting so you don't ruin your project.

HUGE MONEYSAVER !
After about 2 years of use on fleece everyday for my business, I'm ready to buy another of these. As everyone says, it doesn't make your blade like new, but good enough. It's a little tiring to use if you collect blades, so just get in the habit of giving your blade a sharpening every day or so (just like your kitchen knives) and you'll get 10 times the use of a blade. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ! !

A waste of money
I am a quilter and thought I would be able to save money by resharpening my blades. Not only does this product Not sharpen the blades it actually ruins them. I thought at first it was user error but my husband had the same results.
After using the so called sharpener the blade is duller than ever and now skips ( apparently the blade now has flat spots) I wouldn't give one star if it was possible

Ruined my blade
Used it on a blade that was just starting to get dull, and it made it unusable! Wouldn't even cut after that. Complete waste of money.

Works even better than expected
I live in Canada where blades are even more expensive. I read the positive reviews about this product and purchased the 45 mm sharpener. It works so well that a 60 mm sharpener will also be soon added to my sewing room. I love it

Very useful
As with many of my purchases I was skeptical about this as well but was recommend by an employee. After using it I knew I had misjudge a product once again. It sharpens blades like brand new. I've had the same blade in my ginger cutter for about 5 years I just keep sharpening them and I'm ready to go again. A money saver for sure!

when I first started using rotary cutters, I thought they were expensive BUT after buying this I found they are very affordable. A must have for anyone that uses a rotary cutter!! saves a ton of your hard earned $$

Rotery blade sharpener

I Agree It Works
Like everyone has said in these reviews make sure you use oil and turn in one direction, it works great and for the price you can't beat it, saving $$ in not buying new blades.

It works, when you know how to use it!
Okay folks, here's the scoop. This sharpener will work, (I own one and have used it successfully for several years), but there are some caveats.
First, if your blade is nicked, toss it. This product will not help and the blade is simply useless.
Second, don't let your blade get so dull that it wouldn't cut through soft butter. When it *first* begins to lose it's sharpness, use the sharpener. Twist the sharpener in ONE direction only, not back and forth, about 8-12 times depending on how dull your blade is. Carefully turn the blade in the sharpener and repeat.
Third, have reasonable expectations. This sharpener will not make your blades as sharp as brand new. BUT . . . it will make them plenty sharp to make cutting easier again for awhile and extend the life the of the blade. And with the cost of blades, this really adds up in savings over time!
If you follow these two easy "rules", you should get pretty good results from this sharpener and safe yourselves some serious $$$ over the course of a year.

i fouind i had to go over the nicked parts several times, in a back and forth motion, then it would take them out. i dont think it sharpens it back to the original sharpness, but mabe 1/4 more life to the blade. Also, the sand paper seems to wear out quickly. At 1/2 price even, i won't rebuy this product, it isn't worth the loss of fabric from bad cutting.

Use oil
I purchased this item about a month ago and hated it when I first bought it. Tried to sharpen my blade and nothing. Finally read the direction and it does say something about having oil on the blade. So I oiled the blade before sharpening and it worked ok. Remember to just turn your blade in one direction. Not a back and forth motion.

A must have for rotary cutter owners
Seriously worth the money! Use the course side (6 or 7 turns) then the fine side (6 or 7 turns) flip and work the other side of the blade. If your blade is really dull repeat.
Once you set the blade in it, you can do both sides of the blade and both sides of the sharpener without resetting. Care must be taken when removing it since it sticks in the holder a bit (push it off with a pencil eraser) and of course when reinstalling it in your cutter.
This will not fix blades that have chunks out of them from running over pins!

Don't Waste Your Money on This Product
I purchased this item over the internet and was extremely disappointed. It simply does NOT work. After carefully following the directions, multiple times, the blade for my rotary is as dull as ever!! What a waste of money!!!

Buy This!
I run a small but very very busy childrens clothing line. I sew all day long. I go thru about 6 blades a week. This product is saving me 100's of dollars. I can sharpen them just like new.

Worth the investment!
I own the 45mm size sharpener and haven't purchased a blade in over a year. As an occasional quilter I find this worth the investment...I'm sure full time quilters will too. I've only seen the 60mm online though.
