Worst velvet I've ever worked withThis is the absolute the worst velvet I've ever worked with. I've sewn with a lot of velvet--including making my wedding gown entirely out of velvet--and I have never struggled so much with any fabric. This stuff shreds horribly and wrinkles at the slightest touch. Save yourself the headache and pay the extra for the premier velvet.

Great success with this fabric! The quality is good and it is not easy to crush. It is a nice medium weight so it can be worn in cold and milder climes.

for special!I made padded velvet hangers in red velvet and black velvet. (I've also made them with cotton and dupioni). I attached a homemade fabric flower and silk ribbon bow. It was easy to work with, I didn't have to use a velvet board for the hangers, as the material is gathered and didn't need pressing. Lots of oohs and ahhs. Even one hanger makes a great gift, I like to make a set of three.

Not a fanAs it's intended to be the fabric has a nice velvet hand. But it's very prone to fluffing off and balding. I've never really liked acetate velvets because of this reason.

Easy to work withI like working with this lining fabric because it's easy to work with, doesn't seem to fray like other lining fabrics and it falls nicely without clinging to either the garment or yourself. Very happy with this choice.

Great look, but trickyI saw the reviews giving this fabric a bad name and I don't agree with it. This is a high quality velvet...and that is exactly what it is, velvet. Of course it will be harder to see on it isn't cotton, the nap is thick which does make it an advanced fabric. I definitely don't recommend this for beginners. It is an advanced to expert type of material. It gives your projects a thick nice rich look which you can't get with velveteen. Use lots of pins, but make sure to put them in parallel to where your stitching will be other wise it may leave marks in your fabric not guaranteed but better to be safe than sorry, that's part of velvet. Other than that I think that is about it as far as tricks go! Make sure to use a 40% off our more coupon to really stretch your dollar.
