I kept changing the needle, cleaned my machine, rethreaded top and bobbin thread, changed tension, etc. no matter what I did, the needles kept shredding my too thread. Finally I used a different brand needle and voila! The thread stopped shredding. I went through the entire package of needles. So now I know that the cause was these needles.
