Total disappointment
I have used a Singer all my life. My old one quit working when I had a lot of sewing to do. Bought this at Joann’s. Saleslady gave me a speech how it couldn’t be returned. It is junk. I realized why she gave me the return speech.

Broke in 2 days
Bought this for an outdoor furniture revamp, was super excited and it worked great with the thread it came with. The second I tried using the outdoor uv resistant thread...terrible! I've had it for 2 days and the timing is already off and the machine is UNUSABLE. And of course I no longer have the receipt so I'm stuck with this trash. Get a nice one that can handle other thread. This is not worth it

Used machine
I got a used machine which does not function properly. I picked up my machine today from the Frederick store. I’m going to return it and see if I can get a better one or a new one from the same brand. The machine is good if it was new. I am sure the machine was used and they re packed it. First the seal of the box looked strange. It looked like the machine was re packed and then I thought that’s fine so I took the machine out to set it up then I saw some black dust marks but I wiped it because I understand some times it can be dusty.
While setting it my husband and I both noticed the needle was not good. It was old and crooked. After that when I checked the box I didn’t even have the stuff that was included such as the needles which was supposed to be in a new pack. After I saw it it was confirmed that the machine was used because I got some stuff which was all messed up in a small zip lock bag. With items missing. No wonder after watching so many tutorials we still couldn’t set up the thread. I’m very disappointed with the store. I need this to be sorted for the hassle and time I wasted

Good machine, no directions
I like the machine. I wasn't thrilled with where the reverse knob is. I was very disappointed that no directions came with it. You have to go online. I don't always have access.

Singer Tradition
I purchased this from JoAnns on the recommendation of a sales associate. I used it once in the first 30 days to make sure it operated properly. I guess 15 minutes wasn't enough of a trial.
I began the project I purchased it for 3 months and 2 weeks after purchase. From the first stitch the white thread was turning black and it discolored my fabric. The stiches looked white and black. I took the bobbin out and inspected and it was operating fine, but there was grease in the core outside of the bobbin. This came out black when wiped with a cloth. I wiped and rethreaded and still the same. This occurred three more times until the bobbin started to jam and the thread was knotted. Then the tension became tight and I couldn't change it.
I've sewn for 40 years always on used machines and never had issues like I've experienced with this machine. I emailed and called Singer and they said I'm two weeks past the warranty - are you kidding me? I asked to speak to a manger and was promised a call back and haven't heard anything. The original email I rec'd instructed me on how to trouble shoot - basically thread the machine, etc. Please - I've done all that. There doesn't appear to be a service center anywhere in Florida. So, what to do now - toss it? What a huge disappointment and customer service is horrible. You all should stand by your machine and replace or something to make me whole. Should I not expect this to last more than 90 days? You'd think Singer would be better - but I guess not.

Easy machine!
I bought this Singer 2277 sewing machine about 2 weeks ago and just finished a couple projects. The machine is user friendly and is simple to use from start to finish. The auto threader is a lifesaver and there are 100 stitch applications to choose from with adjustable lengths and widths. The price is easy and affordable. I wish I would have bought this machine years ago! I already have more sewing projects lined up and I can't wait to get started!

Easy to use for all levels of experience.
I bought this brand for myself years ago, I still use it and very satisfied with it. I made my granddaughter's dresses on it.
When I noticed the very old Singer I had given my daughter was no longer working, I took her to Joann's and we got the same kind. It is simple and can do just about anything the bigger and more expensive ones can.
I highly recommend this machine for beginners and experienced people.

so difficult
I never could imagine that a sewing machine could be this horrible to thread the bobbin and get this thing to sew normally. I am constantly struggling to keep the bobboin working and then fighting the machine to get teh thread thru again

Gift
We bought this for our 9 yr old granddaughter. I have a sewing machine to give her after she masters this one. I feel it’s important to start on a machine that works, does basic and will not frustrate her due to it being under powered.

SINGER 2277 Tradition Mechanical Sewing Machine
SINGER 2277 Tradition Mechanical Sewing Machine was my choice of sewing machines when my 58 year old Kenmore sewing machine stopped working during a project . The SINGER 2277 is easy to operate & works very smoothly. Even though the machine does not come with an instruction manual there are instructions for threading the machine & bobbins. I' m very happy with this machine & was able to finish all my Christmas gift projects without a problem. I'm so impressed with this machine that I even suggested to my neice as a gift for her 16 year old daughter.

Singer sewing machine
Love the sewing machine I bought. The only thing I don’t like is where the bobbin is - I like to see how much thread I have left.

Returned
I was not happy with this machine at all. The foot pedal cord is too short; it reached the floor, but could not be placed in a position that would allow me to sew comfortably. I've been sewing most of my life, so two outstanding issues: 1) Winding the bobbin took me about 10 minutes, once the bobbin was in the bobbin case, it would not come out! I had to put the tip of my seam ripper into one of the holes on the bobbin to get it out. (I admit I have issues with my hands, but have never had this problem before.) The fly wheel got stuck once during the hour I was testing it. At that point, I was done with it, so packed it up and returned it.

To start it was impossible to get out of the Styrofoam and I immediately noticed the cords are too short. Pretty much everything on this machine can pitch fingers, the bobbin is put in the most inaccessible place possible, I still can't tell how to get the pressure foot up unless you're supposed to manually stick your fingers under it and lift it every time you want to...I don't know, sew? Nothing in the manual about it as far as I can tell. Because of the pressure foot situation, I can't really use it but I'm keeping it in hopes I can figure it out which is why I said two stars instead of one.
