cheap and flimsy
The bottom part does not sit properly within the top part. One can still store a sewing machine in it I guess. Incredible how poorly things can be made these days.

Case fits the 6800C
The 6800C sewing machine fits fine in the case. I called singer and was told that even though the machine’s measurements said it was 17.3 inches and the case said the inside measured 17 inches, it would fit. Well, it did. Nice case. Sturdy. Closures secure. There is some room where the machine could slide a little inside the case, but I am not traveling with it, so it suits my purposes.

Fits my machine!
I wanted to get these for my and my daughter's free-arm sewing machines (not Singer), but based on the dimensions here, the bobbin winder would have been 1/4" too tall. I bought one anyway to try it out and it fits! I think the dimensions here takes into account the dip in the case where the handle sits, but the bobbin winder and other things that poke up from the top of the machine are at the edges, where there is an extra inch at the top of the case (where the handle isn't). Had enough room to keep the plug in and the lip to the bottom part of the case is slightly lower than the platform to my sewing machine, so I can see myself just taking off the top of the case and just start sewing (without having to take the whole sewing machine out of the bottom part). Now I'm getting a second one!

Very lightweight. I bought this to put a vintage sewing machine in, but I was afraid to do so after I felt the bottom. The bottom and sides flex without much pressure. I did not know if the metal clips would be strong enough to withstand the weight of a vintage machine. I am so disappointed in Singer,

Roomy, sturdy & durable, lacks machine protection
This is a roomy case that’s sturdy and durable but if you plan on using it for transportation, you’ll need to stabilize the machine. It’s just a big, plastic, locking box, there aren’t any straps or padding inside to secure it from tipping over or shifting. If you want to use it for storage, it’s great because you can stack things on top of it without fear of crushing the case as long as you’re not putting anything really heavy on it.
I’ve taken it with me on an extended road trip and packed lots of fabric underneath the machine and other accoutrement around the machine to protect it from damage. It worked alright because it functioned as storage too. If you want to use it for travel, you might want a case with wheels to facilitate moving it around but you lose the storage properties the stronger box offers.
