Great for crafts
This was perfect for what I needed. I used it to cover in fondant and make a soccer ball for a cake topper. It was pretty solid and held its shape well. It was a bit hard to push a dowel rod into it. It would be great for anything you need to make that needs to be sturdy.

Great for acrylic painting and other projects, but $7.00 for a 6” styrofoam ball is an absolute ripoff. Probably costs about a nickel to produce...

Depends on Use
It really depends on what the use is. For me, these were not ideal. I make ornaments with them and need a solid ball. One side of these has a hollow hole marking the center. This did not work for me, as I use pins to secure my fabric. I had to find something to fill the hole with to make it usable.
